Hello guys.
I wanted to get some answers and opinions about reputation gaining in the game. Why won’t Blizzard make reputations at least Realm Wide. I mean in the way that if you have an exalted rep at one character you have access to Quartermaster’s items that require certain rep level for all chars you have at realm. I know some of the ppl play only one char all the time and it doesnt matter for them but I and probably lots of others would be happy to have smooth transition to other class for the furture without being forced to grind the same thing again.
For example let’s say I was playing Paladin for the whole Legion and BFA till present and I want to switch to Monk. My Paladin has Mining + BS maxed out and Monk has Herb + Alchemy not leveled. I still have to do the profession quests but I will be stuck at reputation items required for gaining stars in potions/flasks etc.
There are catch up mechanics in the game that allow you to gear up alts faster. Thats true but playing multiple characters is not only being able to Q up for current content. I would like to be able to do the same stuff at my alts as I do at my main without being restricted by stuff that I’ve already done. I want my alts to be possible mains in the future.
Well there’s my opinion that It wouldn’t hurt that much to make reputation wide at any level. There are still quests not connected to rep that you have to do on alts plus grinding expulsum and other crafting stuff. My point is to skip doing one of the most boring things (IMO) in WoW multiple times.
Please share your opinion and tell me why I’m wrong. Don’t be harsh tho It’s my 1st time posting at WoW forums.
Well Reputation in Blizzards eyes is what makes people play, however nowadays it’s more what drives people away from twinks. Making the 100 exalted reps achievment account wide was a step from Blizzards side towards the community, while this was awesome I think we could need something more. For example MoP had a good system (imho) where you could buy a token at exalted that made all other chars on the same bnet account gain double rep with that faction.
Another reason against account wide rep probably is that people would farm rep on several chars to be exalted faster and then complain that Blizzard “forces” them to have several toons… yadda yadda
If they don’t want to make rep account wide (according to Blizz if I recall it right, this is due to inner worldly logic… coming to a faction for the first time and being exalted…) they should implement catch ups like this.
I think for example once exalted it could be checked account wide or something like that. This way gear rewards from factions might at least mean something to toons, right now I don’t recall when I bought something from rep that was an upgrade upon reaching exalted. Usually the way to exalted takes way longer than you take to gear past the rewards…
I wouldn’t mind reputation being shared between characters on the same faction on the same realm, same goes for the Heart of Azeroth and essences. With a realm transfer or faction change, your current realm/faction state would dictate the new values of the transferred character.
