I just finished grinding rep on my main for the 2 new factions and boy it was painful.
I found that most of my wow play time each week was logging in doing both daily hubs, emissaries for echos and then being totally bored and fed up that I just logged out. Ive found i actually dont play the game outside of chores.
Now that ive finished my reps on my main I want to do it on my original char as i like to keep him up to date with every expansion but the will to do so i sucking the life out of it and i end up logging and playing other games.
I am not exactly asking for account wide reps but a catch up for alts would be nice. The neck, essences and corruption are bad enough never mind the rep grinds that seem to offer less rep quest than ever before. I have done some rubbish rep grinds over the years but this expansion has been the worst.
In legion at least you could go to the mission table for account wide tokens as well as world quests.
I dont care how they do it but a 50 percent bonus to alts once completed on your main or a tabard like Wrath would be a start. Even make legacy content faster to grind old reps if you have it exalted already.
I just want to play the game, i dont want to do daily chores multiple times. Its put friends that i used to play with off from coming back.
I get that each character should have its own progression but the games too old now and its one of the only systems that havent moved forward.
Let be fair as well they dont even offer much at all now. No titles, profs suck to make it not worth it, no mog items and the mounts have huge gold costs now. So sure doing it once is enough.
Id even pay to transfer reps to another character or pay to change class.
Anyway, i will likley get flamed for this but i had to let out my frustration.
Why exactly you need exalted reps on your alts? Becouse cathc up even between your own characters kinda ruins this type of progression. You spent all tha time grinding reps then suddenly all your other chars can do it faster? It feels horrible to be honest.
Not to flame you but you said you was bored and fed up outside of doing the chores we are expected to do, why would that be any different when wanting to do them again on another character… perhaps a break from the game is my opinion… but I will agree the grind is very harsh.
however you have to decide what you really want out of the game that you pay monthly for.
my biggest problem with reputations is that they are all the same.
Everything is “grind world quests”. EVERY SINGLE REP MADE IN THE PAST 4 YEARS.
10 reputations in BFA
7 or 8 reputations in Legion. I can’t be bothered to check and count.
That’s ridiculous. Completely unacceptable, yet it somehow received a passing vote at Blizzard for 2 expansions in a row.
A single reputation from 13 years ago (the Netherwing) was more exciting and varied than 18 “new” reputations COMBINED.
You used to have a variety of reps. Daily quest reps, dungeon tabard reps, raid reps. Each with different reward structures. Raid reps gave you crafting patters for raid gear and enchants/consumables. Daily reps gave basic gear and very nice mounts at exalted. Dungeon reps unlocked heroic dungeons and gave some more gear.
Now they do a simple copy-paste and are done with it. Here’s your crap mythic 0 gear, here’s your generic boringa** mount for 50k at exalted. Farewell, do your wq’s and pay us.
Maybe this Renown thing from SL isn’t that bad replacement for reputation after all. If reps are going to be like this in the future i just wish they could die. Stop adding any more, they all suck.
