The fact is that in the WOW-Classics, for completing most quests with any faction city (Horde or Alliance), the reputation was given in the amount of 100 units, but in addition to this, the reputation was also added with other cities of the faction in the amount of 25% of the main one (except for quests in the starting locations, they did not give this bonus with other cities of the faction). In the original TBC, for the usual quests of Azeroth, they began to give 250 reputation instead of 100, and as far as I remember, without additional bonuses with other cities. Also in WOW-Classic there is a penalty for completing tasks below the player’s level by more than 5 (lower by 6 lvl the penalty is 20%, by 7 - 40%, by 8 - 60%, by 9 - 80%, by 10 and more - 90%). As far as I remember, in the original TBC, such fines stopped working.
Now on the test servers of TBC-Classic for the usual tasks give 250 reputation and at the same time there is a 25% bonus with other cities of the faction is preserved. There are also reputation penalties for completing outdated quests like in WOW-Classic. Is this correct? And was this the case in the original TBC? Can anyone provide proof of how the reward in the form of reputation for the quests of Azeroth began to work with the release of the origanal TBC?
At the moment there is a reputation penalty for completing quest below your level in the Beta client.
From testing on the Beta, it is actually much more extreme then then it is in Classic.
It follows the same formula as in Classic, but it already kicks in when you complete a quest 2 or more levels below you.
So when you complete the quest " Fel Orc Scavengers (58)" in Hellfire at level 60, you will gain 200 reputation instead of the full 250.
It will be further reduced by 50 rep each level up until it ends up at 90% reduction (25 rep).
There is no penalty to the XP gained from the quest, at least not starting at the same level as reputation.
I have seen multiple sources from back in the days stating this penalty should have been removed starting with or at least at some point during TBC, so i have no idea if this is to be considered a bug or if it is intended.
Update: Since the newest beta update, you do now get full rep even when doing quest much lower level then yourself.
So if you wanna do dungeons all the way and then go back and do all the quest at 70, you won’t miss out on any rep from them.
I guess it was not intended to work as it did last build.
And is there now a 25% reputation bonus with other cities of the faction on Azeroth when completing a quest with one of these cities? (the bonus is not displayed in the logs, you need to look at the reputation of the rest of the cities of the faction before completing the quest and after to find out if there is a bonus)
