You chose to nolife weeks and weeks to get the set. It was YOUR OWN DECISION. Everyone with half a brain cell knew since the beginning of TBC that the honor gains are abysmal and there’s changes like this coming but you chose to be ignorant and farm it anyway. And now you’re actually crying about a change that’s already coming way too late because you poor soul feel like you’ve wasted your time.
Absolutely no sympathy for people who farmed the set. Get a job.
It’s a really good change since it will make PvP more accessible and therefore might keep our servers a bit more populated for longer.
Though the argument you’re making isn’t the best. By the same logic one could argue that we should ban Google since it’s unfair that youth today doesn’t have to look through books or go to the library to find specific information.
You are both kinda right in here. I mean I didnt expect Hvh and dont like it too much but one way or another everyone who were interested in playing TBC knew that pvp rep sets gonna be intorduced sooner or later so it was a better idea to buy offsets first, specially that you can get pvp head and pants with simmilar stats (resi included) feom pve content. So why to rush 5set at first? Bad planing thats all.
i would call anyone who plays horde crazy for even attempting to farm their pvp gear before hvh was introduced.
the fact you had 75k cap before TBC kinda invalidates you as a candidate though, as you basically had enough for 3-4 pieces of gear from the get-go which makes your personal situation at least 6 times more bearable.
but those who didn’t have 75k and 100 stacked marks? hell naw, that’s just downright crazy.
without hvh i wouldn’t even have bothered to do any pvp, and i’m fairly sure that’s the same for a lot of other players.
I farmed 75k in pre-patch but not during that bug where gains were sick, on top of that I farmed over additional honor for all offset pieces and even accidentally bought one piece I did not need (sadly realised that when it was too late).
I’m not saying that was easy (or smart for that matter), I’m just pointing out that I’m not offended or annoyed by this rep change at all and yet OP is while he had 250 times easier time to farm gear (due HvH). Rep PvP gear is good change and it can only improve PvP in the long run, noone should complain about it.
No you could not, that was added in season3. However with the state of TBCC that wouldn’t even be bad change as it would promote PVP (more people would play BGs) and it would even out the field (gear wise - this needs to be done as S1 is/was big fail).
In season 2 you could buy season1 arena gear with arena points at reduced cost and I believe they are adding that now too.
Call my crazy then. I farmed 4k during honor bug in 1st day of prepatch. I farmed 71k after the fix still in prepatch. Then when I got to lvl 70 I bought neck, back, shoulders, hands and trinket. Then I slowly got all items but chest. When HvH was introduced I farmed last item - chest in around 8h starting at 0 honor.
Im exping rogue now but wont even bother getting pvp gear before S2 mainly cause of rep pvp gear, lower honor/ap cost and sick look of that Rogue S2 pvp set.
So you only like pvp when your opponent is under geared and has no chance? Wasn’t that one of your complaints about alliance players saying quicker honour gain is their bonus for playing the underdog faction? That alliance could only pvp when they were overgeared?
well there’s a difference there. one relies on the opposite faction to have queues so long that its not even worth it to queue up, and the other literally relies on blizzard releasing the gear for free, or at couple of golds i guess.
Honestly that’s something I do not remember at all as I did not buy S1 gear via honor in S3. I can imagine it was heavy cost? How much was it if you remember?
