Hi Blizzard,
I don’t want to just complain, but I think it’s clear that the level 85-89 scaling changes have negatively impacted the PvP experience for many of us. With the current state of affairs, I wanted to suggest the possibility of creating a separate Level 85 bracket for the next 3 weeks to help alleviate these issues.
As it stands, the majority of us are limited to battlegrounds since arena isn’t available during the prepatch and there’s no active season. Unfortunately, PvP is feeling less enjoyable right now due to the stat scaling, which has made the experience much less fun.
The scaling, while likely intended for balance, has made it so that fights in battlegrounds are unnecessarily prolonged. Players are finding it difficult to get kills, and matches feel drawn-out with little chance of actually dying. It’s not about a lack of skill—it’s about how everyone is being scaled to 89 with 85 gear, while secondary stats aren’t scaling properly. Melee classes especially are struggling with low damage and frequent misses, and even casters are feeling the effects.
Healers, too, have voiced frustration as they seem limited to only being required to heal with Renew due to scaling its ticking so high requiring less utilisation of other spells. PvP isn’t as enjoyable when the dynamics are so restricted, and it’s really taking away from the fun.
Could we please consider implementing a dedicated Level 85 PvP bracket for the next few weeks to help mitigate these issues?
Thanks for considering this,
Cheers.

Completely agree. The scaling is horrible and we can’t sit for three weeks as PvPers with nothing to do. This is going to make many people log out and not want to log back in. This is a very ill thought out mechanic that has left a large part of the wow community feeling frustrated, annoyed and wishing we had the choice to simply stay on cata. Another thing that’s frustrating for healers is the new purify spell, which is restricted by an 8 second cool down. A massive area of healing in PvP is dispelling harmful spells from your allies, or indeed buffs from your enemies. We simply can’t do this effectively anymore so the entire BG your team is just being CCd and slowed by mages and other ranged classes and slowly kited to death while you sit unable to help them. Zero nerfs to cc abilities and massive nerfs to effectiveness of dispell is making this a completely miserable experience. We can’t do our job. Please also consider fixing this because it’s nothing short of horrible to play.
It’s prepatch. Just wait for lvl 90 bracket …
Let me ask you, what was the PvP experience like back in Cata prepatch when Wotlk was ending? Wasn’t it the same “unbalanced mess”?
I mean, what do you expect? Should they tune it so that you can enjoy battlegrounds on an outdated level for two weeks? i.e., on level 85 in MoP expansion? How does that even make sense?
3 weeks and yes, its not difficult or massive change its simply adding a 85 (current max level), it would require a small hotfix and that’s it.
alternatively they could rebalance the scaling to include secondary stats but that would be messy and drawn out fix, a simply quick fix is what I requested, single bracket change nice and easy no scaling required as everyone is 85… that my friend is how it makes sense.
Instead you believe it to be acceptable to just allow a proportion of paying customers to accept a service they will not use for 3 weeks but still have to pay for, or they could unsubscribe for the time being which will just cost blizzard money along with poor reputation.
Doesn’t really matter if it’s “pre-patch”. It still leaves a huge part of the game unplayable for a huge part of the community. No they shouldn’t “tune it” so that we can enjoy BGs on an outdated game version for “two weeks” (it’s three by the way) - They shouldn’t have messed with that area of the game until it was viable to play. Or they can simply implement a fast hotfix until actual release date so that we can still enjoy a game that we’re paying for. Unless they’re happy to refund everyone that logs in purely to PvP for 3 weeks worth of game that they can’t play?
“It would require a small hotfix and that’s it”
There are way too many things in this game that “require a small hotfix”, yet blizzard doesn’t care about all such stuff since WoTLK classic, unfortunately. I doubt any of your suggestions are happening.
Probably not, but since we can’t play the game anymore, might as well post about it, nothing better to do lol
It’s good to have you with us again Quackbae, we missed you!
