As a person coming from Poland and working in a hotel, having a lot of contact with people from Ukraine and Russia, honestly, for me these languages are so close to each other that sometimes I can’t hear the difference

To non-slavic people, all slavic languages sound the same, but that doesn’t mean the languages are similar. They just sound similar to unfamiliar ears.

Most people I know also can’t tell the difference between Cantonese and Mandarin. To me, having studied Mandarin, they sound nothing alike. I can pick out a word or two and that’s about it. xD
Similar situation with Ukranian and Russian really.
Scientifically about 45% different at very least.

On top of that i think there is quality fan made translation that is up to date. Afaik they even plan voiceovers for tww.

People want to play in their native language because it’s more comfortable for them, not because they don’t know English. Imagine smb don’t know English in 2024

Where is the political question? It’s about oppression and hatred because of a different language and all the problems in the game related to it. Despite Blizzard’s payment ban, they still play on the servers, spreading their toxicity and ruining the community. There is a solution: close all RU servers!

Russian is one of the most popular languages in the world. It’s one of the official UN languages. Not only russians play on russian-speaking servers. A lot of players from former USSR play there. And you say, that it’s not political to demand to CLOSE all russian-speaking servers (I repeat - CLOSE SERVERS, not to ban russians, but CLOSE SERVERS) only because of some degenerates that you faced? Also, why should we believe you, that it’s not a made up story? Whatever.
Sorry, not gonna happen. Yeah, world is with Ukraine, stand with Ukraine, pay to Ukraine, bow before Ukraine, etc. But no sane game developer will exchange russian language for ukrainian.
