But the “Half-Elves” we meet in TWW have not left the shores of the Eastern Kingdoms 50 Years ago. More like 1500 Years ago, when a group consisting of both Humans and High-Elves set sail to discover what lies on the other site of Azeroth. They stayed there and founded a nation, over the centuries both the Humans and the High-Elves mixed and pointy ears seem to be a very dominant genetic phenotype in the world of Azeroth. (If you want to bring real-world genetics into this place of flying spaceships and talking bears that is). The Arathi we meet in Khaz Algar are an expedition force sent 15 years ago from this empire on the other site of Azeroth.

Funnily enough players already have access to pointed ear options on dracthyr. So it wouldn’t be shocking at all to see the actual races that dracthyr visually “mimick” (humans and Thalassian elves) having access to pointed ears as well.

If anything, it doesn’t make sense that the only way to play a half-elf is to play dracthyr, a dragon race crafted by Neltharion. We can play humans, we can play Thalassian elves, don’t see a reason we couldn’t have pointed ears as an option (specially since half-elves are already part of our factions). Some very well-known characters such as Kalecgos or Arator have half-elf ears. In the lore even Alleria’s children are half-elves.
