Ok fine. But what about the weapons leatherworking can make? Fist weapons and such? Or the offhand lanterns some professions can make?
Oh thats simple.
They make no Gods Damned sense at all.
I mean, you -could- make a fist weapon with Leatherworking, they’re called Boxing Gloves.
The rest of it, nope, no sense at all…
Ma Boi Brigante here is a LW, and when I saw what I could make I was like “But…why? How does that even work?”
So yeah, on that particular front, I’ve got nothing, nada, zilch, nichts.
Just Blizz doing a Blizz I guess.
And! How does an alchemist brew potions without a cauldron?
They’re just very good at pouring the constituent liquids into their throat and gargling until they mix, before spitting the concoction back into a bottle…
Yeah, think about that next time your character drinks a potion/Elixir…
Its ok. I’m an alchemist and only drink my own potions
Why can’t fire mages use combustion and cook things on top of their head?
Why can’t shamans summon fire eles and use them as cooking fire?
Why can’t hunters skin their own pets alive and heal them after?
I know I’m being silly here. The game doesn’t always make sense, it’s that simple. Some things were introduced early in the game and simply stuck. I’m fairly certain if Blacksmithing was introduced now, you wouldn’t need an anvil, or would give you a permanent passive anvil you simply place when starting to craft things.
Why leatherworkers never needed a tanning rack, I don’t know. I mean Tailors needed Moonwells at some point in the game, but outside of that, smithing and cooking are the only professions that truly need specific tools.
Fishing required a fishing rod before also. Skinning and mining required tools also. They were there before but cut from the game instead of sadly adding to them
It would be nice if like in ff14 you open up the crafting menu set up a table sit down and watch your character working.
My bad I should’ve clarified, tools outside of your inventory.
Imo having a gnomish army knife in your inventory also doesn’t really cut it as “requiring tools”.
I agree, something along those lines would be swell!
The difference is that leather/tailoring/jewelcrafting are essentially just skills you can do in your hand but you cant exactly smash a hammer into metal mid air. Its the game trying to add some sense of realism.
I don’t know. I still have trouble imagening crafting something as delicate as a ring would be doable on the floor
Well jewel crafting is generally done in your hands rather than on the floor. I supposed putting the jewels in could require something thats on a table but I doubt they change something added back in TBC.
I doubt they would change any of the professions to be more immersive at this point
Because lightforged Racial is op… Joke it’s useless
I don’t think hitting with a hammer will be good for them either, but you still need a jewelcrafters kit don’t you? Having watched a video on making a copper ring, all the stuff should fit in a box.
Yes this is very annoying indeed. They should also speed the time it takes to mine an ore.
Get on it Blizz!
