Resto druid grievous affix

I’m finding the grievous affix impossible to deal with. Does anyone have tips?
Convoke doesn’t seem to clear any stacks unless it tops people. When people start getting low I find this unrecoverable.

Pre-hot, swiftmend + WG, flourish. That usually gets me out of tight spots. Other than that, keeping HoTs rolling is how I deal with it. Quite mana intensive, and sometimes I have to drink a sip or two, but at least the party lives.

This certainly is a hard week for us, and it’s really mana-intensive, but a few things…

  • Drink between fights. Even if just for a few seconds. Also if it’s an easy fight where you don’t really have to heal, you can Shadowmeld and drink, as well.

  • When you are not near bosses, use Innervate even if you aren’t out of mana. You conserve more mana, making you have to stop to drink less.

  • pre-HoT as much as possible. Have Wild Growth and Efflorescence up at all times.

  • Use Renewal. Great for clearing out the Grievous affix from yourself, and it’s not on the GCD.

  • Also use Nature’s Swiftness + Regrowth + Swiftmend to heal up and clear stacks from somebody else. Then you can focus your other heals on other people. Generally, when the whole group takes damage, it’s best to clear as many people from Grievous as possible.

  • If you predict that the group WILL take large aoe damage soon, like Thrash of the Shard of Halkias, and Infectious Rain, you can cast Tranquility early so people won’t get too many stacks of Grievous to begin with. Basically a stronger version of pre-HoT’ing

A little tip do not use natures swiftness and then regrowth + swiftmend
If you have the soul of the forest talent and you got reju rollin on the group as you most likely will have , you need to instead clear the reju with swiftmend then cast natures swiftness this will buff your next regrowth by 300% meaning you will be able to cast out a instant regrowth for between 20-30k
Depending on gear and you can easily top someone with that combo

By playing resto durid 15+ years if i can describe resto druid in short it will be:
Very gear hungry class, which has trouble healing when low geared and when partners have bad gear, its not class for lazy people, player need to invest alot in this class, to work…but invest usualy pays off.

For a practical showcase:

I like your ui. Looks clean and nice gameplay. I only play boomkin at the moment but you made it look fun to heal.

This affix is hell for healers. You must improve your rotation in first place ( have to know how to face it). Second, you need pt with brain, so they can help you. WIth randoms, you got very high chance to be in pt just for weekly or “who am I” players…

Druid is no more or less gear dependent then other classes, maybe even less than e.g. disc priest

False, let me explain why you are wrong:
Because our healing over time need health pool to chew on, if damage can bypass that health pool and send our healing target to death, our hots are 100% uselsess, but with better gear comes more stamina, so our hots have HP to chew on, and to bypass big HP pool is not easy as to bypass low HP pool

Scenario 1:
Imagine you have 30k HP, than some mage combust you…he bypass your entire HP and send you to death = game over right, you died even with all hots on you
Scenario 2:
Now imagine you have 40k HP, mage combust you, but he bring you down to 10% instead of kill, your hot tick kick in on that 10%, you survive, See the diference?

There are no mages combusting us in PvE though, where the Grievous affix is present.

Well just translate it to PvE than…instead fire mage combust imagine something else hits. And you get answer why resto druid is gear hungry.

So its not druids that need gear but rather the tanks so hots can do their work. Or (in your pvp case) you need more hp to survive. But so does everyone else.
Druid does struggle with bursty metas (in pvp), but this thread is about pve and druid benefits from gear as all classes do.

Thing is, in M+, if something hits you, it either oneshots you anyway, regardless of HP, or you live, and HoTs will do their thing.

Yes, more gear on everyone makes things easier, but that’s true for all other healers aswell.

Yeah it’s like shaman mastery. Do massive heals when targets are low. But means nothing if it one shots you.

It is fun to heal, i was a dps for 15 years and only just stared playing healers
i find it easier to get into groups anyways, no more waiting 5 hours in lfg.

Your ui looks fantastic. What addons are u using?

Heh, thanks! It’s ElvUI at the base, with a few tweaks here and there. Unit frames are ElvUI, buffs are Raven, damage meter is Details, nameplates are Plater, chat is Chatter, the player positions in the middle of my screen is FarmHUD, and there’s a bunch of weakauras.

There’s also BigWigs+LittleWigs and MDT in use under the hood.

I’m also using ConsolePort, but that’s not visible on the UI.

Yeah im using elvui too. But just elvui nothin else. I dont like having to take care of 20 addons. But these seems nice

I have about 150 addons in total, WoWUp takes care of them. I hit the update button once or twice a week, and done.
