Resto Druid Mastery demystified

I cannot find the answer by searching the internet so maybe somebody here can help.
Does the mastery mean that you get the benefit for each different(!) HOT or each HOT?
Meaning that if I have Rejuvenation + Regrowth I get the double benefit but not having 2 Rejuvenations on different targets?

“Mastery: Harmony - Your healing is increased by 5.0% for each of your Restoration heal over time effects on the target.”

Correct the mastery increase healing on the target by x for each of your hots on that target

This is the reason mastery generally get worse the larger groups you have as you won’t be able to maintain a large amount of hots on each target

Hold on. So your healing gets the bonus on particular target depending of how many HOTs you have on THAT target and it is calculated individually by each of the group members?

That is correct and if you think about it, mastery description says it quite nicely if you switch your mindset.

So yeah, more dots on particular target = more healing for that particular target (but not for other targets)

I can see it now.
Thank you!

I got 12% mastery, so for each hot I have on one target, which is 6, but if you take talent spring Blossom and the swiftmend trait hot you got 8 hots.

So, 12% x 8= 96% increase healing on my hots.

correct you hots on that target will heal for 96% more.

Press flourish and start dancing, say no one is dying on my watch :joy:

Pushing restore into hot stacking made me give up… Liked the old abundance HT spam playstyle

Never made sense, though.
What was the point to spam HT?
Casttime from regrowth and GCD from healing touch was the same. Just that regrowth healed more, especially after it was buffed by some abundance-stacks, because it could crit 100% after applying 6 rejuvenation (for instant HT you even needed 10).
The reason for abundance was just this, never for being spammy with HT. There was never a meanful reason to use HT in the last few expansions.

Wasnt it in legion, our mastery was changed, prio to that we had to use a direct heal once in a while to keep our mastery buff up, which was a fun mechanic if you ask me.

Was a terrible maintainency mechanic. I like the current stacking.

The issue I have with the current system, is that it’s only really useful in small groups :frowning:, and that it remove a bit (as in having to do something, over it just being passive) of the complexity there was to healing as a resto druid.
