Resto Druid PvE Experience is so bad

OMG, so decided to play a Resto Druid 1-60 to get the muscle memory for healing setup right and it has easily been the worst PvE experience out of all classes. First of all it needs some more damage abilities to make it a more varied and fun combat experience, and second I can totally see a damage buff as well.

It can take you minutes sometimes to kill certain mobs and that feels extra long when all you can do is spam Wrath and re-apply the dots. I don’t think I’ve ever been so bored levelling a character.

For healing it’s great fun, but yeah, for PvE? Forget about it, not doing it again.

If You plan to lvl as resto - it’s better to spam dung only… if plan to do quests… go balance or feral / guardian… (resto dmg is terrible bad… so)

Oh I’m 60 already, I did it but the forum for some reason isn’t updated. It’s not my only 60 druid either, it’s my favourite class. But yeah Resto, not designed for PvE in the slightest.

Well, just take a look at Holy Paladin as a comparison, there’s a spec done very well. It can do the damage it needs to feel good while doing PvE, it’s actually really enjoyable. A healer doesn’t have to be weak in PvE.

They could even have it do less damage in dungeons to have it focused on Healing, but whileout in the wilds, doing PvE, have the damage increased. This would make it a much more fun experience and you wouldn’t feel bad about playing a healer just so you can heal in dungeons, sacrificing your abilities while playing solo in PvE.

They should really look at this, since it heavily influences what people play.

Our resto druid healer (the one who heals most of our keys) hates holy pally to the extent that she’s changed her pally to a tank. And while the damage output doesn’t compare to holy pally and a certain resto shaman I know, it can be pretty decent in the hands of a skilled player. Add to that a group that knows how to use their own defensives and doesn’t take avoidable damage, which allows the healer to switch to moonkin form and dps for a while, and there’s really nothing to complain about…

… if you like the playstyle. If you don’t like the playstyle, you’re never going to enjoy it, so you’re better of playing something else.

You seem to have missed the point that I’m not talking about dungeons.

Try Feralaffinity. It’s fun and enemies die fast.
I think restodruid is the most fun class in the whole game. Nothing compares to that and that’s why I have so many of them (3 on 60, and a few in 45-50 range).
And if you still hate it so much, just don’t play it. It’s not for you then. Simple as that. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

So, switch to one of the other 3 specs to solo world content. It isn’t complicated, and it’s what most healers do.

Use feral affinity or switch specs, as its super easy to do. Go in open world as dps and que up as resto.
Healer cannot do big dmg, tank and heal.
My main is resto druid and I would love to have big dmg, but its just do not make sense why would I.

I get it, don’t fix it, work around it. Jesus, no wonder the game is like it is.

Not sure if troll thread or not

Literally '‘but muh deeps’'ing a healer spec

I literally couldn’t disagree with you more. Going with feral affinity gives you a damage rotation that has as many buttons (if not more) than some of the simpler DPS specs. Shred, rake, rip, moonfire, sunfire, wrath and bite.

I levelled from 1 to level cap in BFA as resto and had an absolute blast. Adding some cheap enchants to your heirloom gear (like satyr neck enchant and elemental force on your weapon) allows you to kill mobs fast and be a god in world PvP as you level. I’ve never enjoyed levelling a class/spec so much before. No other healer gives you that variety and depth of kit.

It’s totaly understandable that resto dps while levelling is not a development focus ever since switching spec had been just a button push away.

I’d rather they don’t waste development resources on it.

The affinities are not meant to enable levelling in another form than your spec, they’re meant to tyemporarily fill a roll when you dont have to fullfil your main roll.

You are trying to play the game as it hasn’t been intended for a couple expansions now. So yes it is up to you to work around that if you insist on that path.
