I find it weird that we have not seen any rune that makes resto shaman more playable… please add riptide as a rune
Resto shaman in ST fights will have insta or quick heals by stacking maelstrom weapon.
For AoE ones, spamming R1 flameshock on every high hp mob will give you a 5%*N chance per tick to proc an instant heal.
Also they have a 30% extra smart heal to lowest Hp target (including MT if its the only one harmed), it’s kinda good idk

All runes are kind of a “proc chance”. So we have to wait and hope it procs in the right time. Thats not really fun and an active gameplay.
Like other runes from other classes.
Shamans have the least amount of data mined runes so far, 7 in total. Riptide would have been amazing to see on the belt slot but we didn’t get it. It is still possible to have it on helm since no helm runes for Shamans have been mined so far.
My wish for resto shamans is for the degenerate dual wield play-style to go no further, it will be even more viable now with maelstrom weapon and I hope they break it.
Same, I’m DW two caster daggers now and though it’s cool stat wise, It’s also kind of ridiculous.
That said riptide would be nice and wrath of air for elemental too.
I don’t think that a hot would fix the issues that resto shaman currently has. Riptide would be good, if it had tidal waves baked in, to at least have some sort of interaction with other spells. But more than that, shaman in general could really do with better totems. Mana spring is both mandatory and incredibly boring, so a rune that replaced mana spring with a throughput totem, but moved the mana reg from mana spring into a stronger mana tide, would be good. Or a raid CD as an earth totem. Basically anything that makes totems more than a spell that you use and then forget for two minutes.
Maelstrom doesn’t really fix anything, because it requires you to not heal to then get an instant heal. A heal being instant doesn’t make it better, it just reduces the time until you can use your next spell by one second, after a buildup that is substantially longer than that one second. The chain heal from flame shock ticks is virtually guaranteed to have mostly useless procs. The 30% cleave heal on healing wave crits is really weak compared to the runes other healers get. It technically improves throughput, but crit chance is very low, and if you need aoe heal, you won’t be casting healing wave. Also, it’s on andy tate’s alpha dog rune slot, and I think it’s reasonable to assume that tanks will throw absolute fits if they don’t get to be alpha doggos. Resto will be the first one to have to sacrifice a rune slot for that.
The entire class is in a very underwhelming state, and blizzard does not seem to have any useful ideas for fixing that at the moment.
