So it’s been years since Arthas invaded Quel’thelas. And we know in Shadowlands time works a bit differently or whatever. So will Quel’thelas be restored?
My idea was that only level 120 characters and above can see the restoration of Quel’thelas. Otherwise everyone else see the ruins because you kinda need the ruins to level anyway.
I saw a really cool video of someone showing the restoration of Quel’thelas and it’s absolutely beautiful!
Darnassus is currently burned for level 110 and above, but low levels can still see Darnassus as it is before the burn so that they can level in the area. Likewise Undercity for low level Undeads. So I’m assuming it could work the same way.
There are many places that are canonically restored (like the Exodar) but it’s not implemented in game. Like the Vale of Eternal Blossoms was eventually restored, but only updated in BFA.
Silvermoon absolutely does need restoring,
the whole thing is a patchwork of random wall textures, it is desperately in need of, if not rebuilding, definitely touched up textures.
the rebuilding should’ve probably occurred before the Sunwell changed the eyes of the Sin’dorei to golden(or before they decided to implement that)
it’s the Horde’s favoured city and it is begging to be a hub for players to congregate
Dont stop with just Silvermoon! As someone said, do Gilneas aswell. There are alot of unused fantastic cities, town and areas all across azeroth! Use them! =)
Some examples: Silvermoon, Gilneas, Stratholme (not unused but still =P)
Maybe fix up some places that was trashed in Cata: Menethil Harbour, Auberdine, Feathermoon Stronghold.
And finally - Open up Kezan! We’ve been there now as an instance so why not! And let us see Undermine! (The Goblin mega city)
Ppl will see more of Azeroth if Blizz makes something worth visit =)
Blizzard stated specifically that they see no reason to restore Azuremist or Quel’thelas as they are starting zones and don’t serve as central hubs past lvl 20.
I don’t think it is going to happen, ever. Maybe if they redo the entire Classic world but again, what’s the point. People level through dungeons anyway.
Unless there’s gameplay there in SL, I really doubt they’d do it. Currently it’s just a starting zone, and with the new leveling it’ll probably be 10 minutes max for new characters.

Silvermoon is only used by RP’ers and low-levels and that’s more than the Exodar.
I’d love to see an updated Quel’Thalas, but I don’t think it’s likely…not for Shadowlands anyway. Maybe in the expansion after…but we will have to wait and see.
Massive waste of time and resources that could be spent on something more relevant to the vast majority of the playerbase.
Not to mention the fact that if they did update it they’d need to include some bifactional gameplay component in the finished product to justify their work on it which would only serve to rob Horde players of another city and turn the place into a lesser version of a contested Suramar.
True. They are probably busy with the Covenants anyway. But I thought it’s just a fun suggestion to put out there and get some opinions from the player base
Why did you use those quotes to make it seem like I visit Silvermoon for “Goldshire” stuff? It appears you either understood me wrong, or you used those quotes like that on purpose.
Anyway, to explain: I visit Eversong woods as a Void elf because its fun chatting with the Blood elfs there using the Thalassian language (I just gotta be sneaky and avoid getting killed)
I’d love to see this and Gilneas being used too.
I’d love to see more old content updated. Years have passed since the Cataclysm, it is about time to repair that dam in the Wetlands, amirite my dwarven friends?
Well the whole area is still filled with undead, but they can restore the city at least and finally link those zones to Azeroth, in game. They could also do some things with the other areas, like they did with Darkshore, with the world quests. And given the Exodar is in the same situation it wouldn’t be biased.
Yes please! Those poor Horde envoys have been walking around and around the city for thirteen years now.
I mean, I’d miss the feel of the zone and the low level questing - that desolate, haunted feeling of a nation emerging from the ruins of disaster, and the desperation of its people, but that could be phased I guess. It would be awesome to see the city rebuilt, the Ghostlands restored, and Quel’danas and the Sunwell updated (with a bronze dragon there to take you back to old Quel’danas for raid etc.)
Obviously they’d need a good reason for that much work. Fingers crossed. The way things are going with the Light/Void stuff emerging, it wouldn’t surprise me if Silvermoon comes into play again some time down the line. But yeah, lots of cities and zones need that love, too!

But their is also the big question on if it gets restored - what can be the main objectives?
I mean, in the zones at the moment, it starts off with the magical addiction and honoring Dath’Remar and then we move on and start figuring out the Scourge, Wretched, Night Elves and Amani are a threat and the remaining parts of Quel’Thalas cater to this arc, until the last moment when the player confronts Drathir.
I mean - what could it be changed to? Rogue Amani or Zandalari? Crazed Void Elves, poised on the destruction of the Sunwell? Queen Azshara story arc on the Sunwell? We have possible options, but which ones make sense? (These were just my own headcanon which I thought of randomly, which could work.)
