Restored Coffer Keys

With M+ dungeons out, raid and other means of getting gear…what is the point of keys?
We are limited to 4 keys per week, which is 4 bountiful delves and that’s about it.
Why are we limited with getting gear this way? Can’t we just play delves as much as we want and get gear from them? It’s not like gear is any higher than M+ gear; in fact it’s worse and you gotta get lucky if you get the map bit…

Delves are currently the only content I am enjoying, because I get to play at my own pace and just enjoy. Sadly when I run out of keys I have very little drive to load WoW up and play it.
So question is…why are we being denied from content? Sure I can run delves without keys but…what’s the point?

Should the keys be removed altogether? What are everyone’s thoughts on this?

EDIT:
Corrected numbers, as I’m blind.

You get 4 keys from weekly quests, you get 1/4 keys from world quests a couple times a week and you can get about 2 keys per 5 radiant shards. Also, you will outgear Delves drops within like 2 weeks anyway, so they are only for the vault or the extremely rare case of a map.

I’ve had 2 maps in 67 or so bountiful chests.

I’m aware you can wait for shards and get them through the echoes – but the point remains why even have the keys? It’s like Blizzard really doesn’t want us to play the game sometimes.
The keys kinda just ruin the fun for me ngl. World quests for shards don’t spawn as often, when you waste echoes it’s kinda game over too until next week.
I’m getting a lot of duplicates from bountiful chests etc, but idm. I just find it fun to run bountiful delves every day…but sadly I can’t do it every day because of keys :frowning:
We are already limited to 3 delves per day.

Keys are to prevent you from just running nonstop delves until you’re full 606 and being able to bypass every other aspect of the game. Delves are too rewarding for their difficulty level as it is.

But we are already limited to 3 delves per day.
We don’t overgear M+ players nor raiders either, we gotta get extremely lucky if we want heroic pieces.
I understood it was there until M+ dungeons opened but…I see very little point now.

You’re limited to 4 delves per day, 4 guaranteed keys per week. If no keys you could do 4 delves per day, that’s 28 ilvl606 items per week for content that is easier than M0 but rewards the same loot as a M+5-6

I’m pretty sure it’s just 3 per day – I never get more than 3 bountiful delves a day @.@
I don’t see anything wrong in doing content that is making people enjoy it and get decent gear that does not outgear M+ nor Raiders.
You’ll just sit on ilvl 606 and wait for the vault and I don’t see it doing any harm to anyone.

It’s 4, 1 per zone. Always has been.

You don’t see any problem with really easy solo content providing gear that makes more challenging group content rewards obsolete? To get better rewards from M+ you have to do M+7, M+10 for the vault. Delves are easier than M0, M+10 is where the best players are.

It’s already too rewarding because it’s too easy, meaning there is no progression path, you can solo T8 delves with a newly dinged char.

I am probably blind to one then, I stand corrected!

It can be challenging for lower ilvl people and classes that aren’t cut out for it. Some classes will storm through it, others will suffer.
I couldn’t do a lot on my Evoker until they fixed Brann’s healing, for example. It’s not as easy as people make it seem, but it’s content that you can do at your own pace without stressing about other people.
I did try M0 but was constantly denied for 20 minutes.

I believe people who want a challenge will get the gear rewards they yearn for.
Delves are there to give us quite decent gear, but also not high end gear.
I don’t see a problem at all. It provides a decent challenge, decent gear and decent amount of fun.
Once you get all the 606 pieces, what remains is to wait for the vault – whereas people can still thrive in M+ and constantly do that and still get higher gear.

PvP also rewards really decent conquest gear – which I am finding more enjoyable than dungeons atm.

Unless I’m mistaken, some vendor will be able to sell us Restored Coffer Keys for either Resonance Crystals or Valorstones.

Pre-nerf (when they were harder) I did a T8 solo on an ilvl565 Prot Warrior, and 570 Fury Warrior. After the nerf I did one on a 570 Enhancement shaman where I didn’t really know what I was doing. Basically I just suck at modern Enhance, I levelled it quickly and have no idea about the utility or how to really play.

Anyway, the strategy is simple, mash keys and stand in branns healing potions when he throws them, that got me through a few T8 delves last week while having no clue how to play Shaman. This week I’ve hit 580 and I’m starting to get the hang of playing it a bit, solo’d Zekvir on ? with the shaman and done a bunch of normal T8 delves, all of it with absolute ease, like no issue at all.

They are so easy it’s crazy. I bet if I levelled my Rogue/Hunter it will be the same.

Yeah they cost 2k crystals, but it’s reduced to 1k when you have beaten the season journey thing with delves. I’ve almost completed it myself so it’s very doable if you have some alts.

Warriors have a really, really easy time in Delves.

Pre-fixes healing Brann was terrible. I was getting hit for 2m from mini bosses and was dead in blink of an eye.
After fixes and with Brann healing properly, it’s getting easier for some classes. I still get my HP to flash red from certain attacks though, and it still calls for awareness. Thankfully Evoker has decent self-sustain and defenses + mobility which keeps me alive.
I imagine some casters will have real hellish time though.

Warriors in general are thriving in delves from the experiences I heard, so no doubt it seems like a walk in the park.

Other than that, I still see no point in keys and would rather they didn’t lock this content behind them but alas! My opinion may be wrong, as I just want to run delves and have fun daily without depending on keys.

No doubt Warrior is really good, spell reflect and a few stuns. But Shaman was also really good. I’m gonna have to level my Rogue and see how that goes. Everything to me so far points to delves being super easy because Brann’s healing potions are so strong, and once you figure them out it’s smooth sailing.

Defo lmk how it goes on rogue and hunter!
As you mentioned just gotta keep looking for potions and it’s smooth sailing indeed.

Some casters hit like trucks still tho! Kobolds in general give me a hard time if I ain’t careful or respond too late to certain mechanics.

EDIT:
In process of leveling my affli warlock, wonder how Delves will feel on a lock.
Which begs a question: Do alts also get weekly keys which you can transfer to your main?

Update:
Breezed through t8 on my 550 Affliction Warlock; whereas with Evoker I struggle a LOT more. So some classes definitely have a MUCH easier time; hooo boy it’s like night and day!
Also you can’t trade keys between your chars, but oh well!
