Ret, do you have the time to spend all generators and holy power?

Hi, been playing paladin casually forever, but recently started to be bothered by the eternal questions

How to minimize waste? Waste of hp generator cooldowns, and also avoid using generators when at 5, and is it ok to use Vlad the Impaler move when at 4 holy power?

So first thing’s first. Does anyone know/ Has anyone done the math/legwork to find out, if ret even has enough GCD’s in a day to spend all of the generators, considering i have the talent that gives me free storms and one free holy power voucher?

After that question is answered yes/no, how do we prioritize/minimize waste?
Obviously, 2 charges of crusader strike are given so that we can have a little 4.5sec window for flexibility, but wasting a gcd spending holy power when a holy power generator is available feels like a horrid waste.

Also, a bit of an offtopic, but what do you guys feel about completely replacing Templar’s Verdict by Justicar’s Vengeance? It seems to have relatively same damage output but also heals you for the same amount. Obviously you still Divine Storm when 2+ targets, but am I missing something about TV that makes it far better dps over JV?

Thanks everyone in advance.

I’ve done some digging on my own, made a google sheets with gcd per cell and wrote down ability cooldowns and tried to figure out when to use what to minimize waste.

Curiously enough, you waste the most holy power generation if you don’t manage your crusader strike CD’s well (if you sometimes have 2 charges of crusader strike ready to use): If you divide crusader’s +1 HP by its cooldown (4.8sec with my haste) and multiply by 1.35sec (my gcd) you get a waste of -0.28125 HP/gcd which is slightly above Blade of Justice’s waste of -0.2454545455 HP/gcd and far above judgment’s -0.135 HP/gcd. Biggest waste is, ofc, if you are supply capped and use a BoJ at 5, a whopping -2 HP absolute, or -1hp with c or j at 5 or BoJ at 4.

So, first initial couple of abilities should look something like Crusade>BoJ>Judge>SPEND>Crusade>Consecrate (if you are a consecrate enjoyer, otherwise waste a gcd doing nothing)>Exorcism (if have) then Crusader, or Crusader then wait 0.55 sec (judgment cools down earlier than gcd would have ended)>SPEND

Ofc I couldn’t see the precise cooldowns (to a tenth of a second) of my abilities, and it doesn’t take into account Art of War BoJ procs at all, or 1 less HP cost proc from Crusader strike, or Empyrean Power for a free divine storm, but it’s a start.

Perhaps i could try to add a string of melee swings and consider what to do with AoW if it procs on any given swing, and then perhaps also make an ‘alternative’ string for when free dvine storm/ -1 hp cost procs off a crusader…
