Was there any prot pala present in that BG? Because they can apply that immunity spell guarded by an angel that can be CC’ed in order to interrupt the cast.
Holy paladins have a pvp talent that makes their BoS 100% damage reduction. Maybe that?

Pretty sure Guardian of the Forgotten Queen can’t be used on targets with orbs or flags 
Okay, since you said yourself that you have a tracker for Forbearance, it can’t be BoP or Spellwarding. You can’t put them on players anyway as long as they have an Orb. Likewise, a Prot Pala can’t give them a Guardian or anything like that. Priests unfortunately don’t have anything that gives people DMG Immunity either. The question would be how long the Ret was immune to damage? Was it only briefly for about 2 secs or more like 6 seconds? If it was only for 2 seconds then it could be from a MW Monk who has Peaceweaver skilled and gives all those who get the Healing from Revival 2 Secs Immunity.
If the duration was longer then it should have been an Ultimate BoS from a HPal, as Coral mentioned.
