Recorded a couple of matches today while playing arena, just to showcase things a little better than just words. The games were played around 1850-1900 mmr. Of course I didn't play perfect, but probably the opponents did not either. Both games it was extremely hard to keep up with the massive utility other classes have over ret.

Well i can tell you RET is garbage. I would insta rerol if they let keep me HOA ilvl on twink.

Even when ret was at its peak for "game play" it wasn't chosen as a top tier spec to push 1st in world raid efforts.
What should always be important is simply wanting to play a spec because it is enjoyable to play.
From there you have the chance that players will figure out a way to make them "decent" in the environments they are put in.
This isn't possible in todays WoW.
I'd really like if they made ret more appealing for mythic dungeons. Greater Blessings are a joke. Loh,bop,divine shield has 5+ min cd. The best thing going for us is Word of Glory which is good but not enough by itself.
I like that our utility is mostly defensive, fits the class. So i suggest remove Greater blessings, give us 10% stam buff and a battle res.

If we just had a bit of consistent aoe damage rather than the burst style every 45 seconds we would do a lot better in mythic + I feel single target we are still pretty decent. Its just the lack of cleave that is kinda frustrating especially after how great at it we were last expansion.
Mobility wise would be nice to make divine steed 2 charges as standard but I don't think this will ever be changed they want us to be slow, which I would be fine with if our damage was consistent with our loss of mobility which unfortunately it isn't. Hopefully this will get addressed at some point before the release of the new patch.

Having no cleave hurts allot in Uldir .

Iâve just recently changed to tank for mythic + and Iâm playing ret for raiding. Seems a lot more fun on a tank in mythic + then it ever did playing a ret!
This might be their goal . Keep the dps spec total garbage to get more tanks/healers .
3 things i would like to see for retri , we should star with 3 holy power simlar like a warlock .
Make inqusition base line and duration to 60 sec.
A talent to replace inqustion to lower the cooldown of judgment by 25%-50% CD.
I do feel like this would make our rotation much better, also another thing since i belive besides rebuke our only ofgcd abilty is shild of veanges making inqustion of gcd would be fair.

Current ret isnt quite as bad as some say, granted has issues, its very slow and so is rotation, but that will ease as we progress in expac.
Also dont like to be forced into Inquisition since its just a boring bandaid, make it at least look cool when you activate it.
Except it wonât. Even with close to 100% haste that you can get from various buffs, you still get downtime which is kinda insane when you think about it.
Right now ret is in a very bad state with really no changes in sight.
I just cant get it why it have do be so bad,class fantasy?

Pretty easy concept though,melee-more uptime,unique buff-ability to make us wanted,no gaps in rotation,its redicilious.
Holy-bad mastery,low crit,not enough infusion of light procs,prot-dont play it much,main point all 3 dont feel right.
Should i keep my sub in hope it will get better at some point?
My biggest problem is the mobility and the over-simplified rotation.
Bring back Long Arm of the Law as a baseline passive and get rid of the horse Blizzard, why wonât you do that? Literally everyone hates that horse, itâs just stupid. Make HoW baseline too so we have more abilities and less downtime, all of the other specs in the game are capable of spamming something 24/7 except ret, waiting on that BoJ reset proc is just more bad rng and nothing more. Might as well remove it and add Exorcism back, nobody likes BoJ anyway . Seals, auras, raid-wide buffs, should i keep going? Where is the fun in 3 button mash specs? I thought i was playing an MMO, not a MOBA. Stop pruning classes in general, that was the worst decision EVER!
