Well I would say thats a fair trade. Still got a huge dps increase in HoR buff, and then reverting some of it in reverting SoV to tune it back a bit. Will make rets unhappy, but will make a lot of others happy in seeing that the devs actually live up to their words and not just give huge buffs to some speccs while ignoring others. If they had done no changes you would have neither of the buffs, so just having the HoR is a massive step up for you anyway.
How would reverting it so that CS and DS does not proc SoV make a prot paladin angry? They donât even use those abilities.
No, seeing the devs admitting to their buffing was larger than intended and trying to fix that would make people happy.
Its not like atacking seals a bit slower would make the specc unplayable. A lot of people didnât seem to mind playing ret in naxx before that change.
The vast vast majority of our damage from the buff comes from our taunt being usable.
The seal change was primarily a quality of life change with an incredible minor dps boost.
Agreed on this as well, but Blizzard did that thing where they told rets to âreroll or respecâ which changed perception of ret over night. That was a pretty big faux pas.
This is ridiculously wrong. Ret long before Shadowmourne was a top 5 spec for progression in ICC in 2009/2010, infact on the LK world first the Ret was 5th on damage in a guild that is way better than any guild youâve ever played in, the Fury Warrior was 10th.
Thatâs in 2010, no classic buff. Itâs no secret that Shadowmourne is really strong and will massively impact dps rankings, but this myth that Ret was bad without it is just that, it was literally one of the best specs in ICC already.
