Any thoughts on taking another look at implementing the retail mount collection tab? I didn’t think there previous post on this matter was really complying as to not add this quality of life feature, there was a very clear reason they added it in mop and i think that applies here, its really annoying have to rebuy/collecting mounts for multiple characters, especially for a player base that does indeed play a lot of alts. I don’t see how they are implanting all these other retail features and not adding in this quality of life feature.

Also in the correct forum I say NO to this idea. An alt is a new person, a blank paper, not to be fouled by former character’s deeds.

really farming brewfest mounts/zg tiger or whatever mount for your second character is really going to foul the game for people, almost like they added in account bound mounts for a reason, no one likes doing this twice
Already cancelled my account so I can just go “sure, add this too!” and not even worry about having to justify my take.

Classic is very collector-unfriendly due to the lack of sharing collections between characters. In fact, the mere thought of having Cataclysm after WOTLK does not make it a good perspective to farming anything in WOTLK compared with Retail.
Because being a collector is something that takes years. Why would I farm anything if in two years came Cataclysm which I probably won’t play so much? Any collection done now will be thrown away. In the worst case, there will be another season of Classic-TBC-WOTLK realms with WOTLK all over again but it is still the same problem, a game with an end date is not worth playing as a collector. So if that happens there should be an option to share collections (achievements, mounts, titles, and pets) between seasons.
The best scenario would be if Blizzard confirms there will be WOTLK Era servers. In that case, WOTLK won’t have an end date and it will be worth being a collector, even without sharing things between characters (that is not a concern for me because usually I play only with paladins so I don’t care about alts).
Until WOTLK Era is confirmed I won’t waste my time working on a collection of a throwaway character. I will focus only on collecting quests because with addons is easy to keep a quest completed list shared between characters, even mixing Retail and Classic.
i dont care if my characters get thrown away after wotlk, i just dont want to have to farm mounts that i already obtained again on my alt/main, collection stuff is fun regardless if you stop playing in 2 years.
there will be wotlk era servers, there is no doubt about it.
tbc doesnt have era because most people hate this xpac.
follow the private server trends. massive demand for wotlk era.
I understand you care about your alts so I have no opinion if things should be shared between alts because such a question is irrelevant to me, I have no alts to care about in Classic, nor plans to have them. I had made alts in Retail but the only purpose was to obtain things for my main, nothing more, I won’t do anything with an alt that I could do with my main.
About collections, I do not feel that way. I have played many collection games over years, and in other things I am also a collector in Real Life and one of the things I would hate more will be to lose my collection. So, if the collection will be thrown in the garbage I have no plans to start it.
Maybe. Still, I won’t risk it. Being a collector is something that could take years. If they make WOTLK Era I have no problem farming mounts and pets once are confirmed, I would have all the time in the world. So, there is no point in risking it now for what, one or two years? That’s nothing. It took me 6 to 8 years in Retail to obtain every mount I was able to farm in OG WOTLK, so waiting 1 or 2 years to start now won’t be a big deal.
WOTLK Era is very likely, yes. But I don’t trust Blizzard. I will assume they will make the worst garbage decision unless proven the opposite.
Mount tab and Pet tab is a good idea because it’s just interface QoL and no addon can do the same thing, exactly like SpellBook, Spec Caracter Tab, Guild tab, 100% better on Cataclysm and no addon can do give us this interface QoL.
Definitely. I don’t think anyone could disagree adding all the features from the current game into Wotlk is a bad idea - afterall, retail is doing so exceptionally well year after year and overwhelmingly out performed Wrath, so why not just add raid finder & all the other systems to Wotlk too? That way all the retail andys who join and quit 1 month after release don’t get confused when they go back to retail.
i mean im pretty hardcore with the game and have been playing tbc nonstop and planing in wotlk to play 2 characters the entire expansion , its just a nice qol feature for people who play the game alot, thou i understand if you just want to play 1 character because you know you will stop playing after wotlk and it does suck to lose your collection/time investment but not every feels the same way. Quite a few people that came from private servers also play classic and are used to resetting and doing everything again.
no one is advocating for raid finder of dungeon finder, or other aspects from retail, they are already adding in qol features in other aspects of the game i simply am asking they add in a qol feature that is harmless. Dont just see “retail” and go insane i also dislike the terrible additions retail added to the game overtime aswell but this is not one of them.
I have ZG tiger and Ashes of Al’ar on my main and even I say No to this. Would it be sick to have my mounts on all my chars, yea of course, but that would completely ruin it because you would see every cool mount everywhere.

Yeah, all the other harmless things that have led to the game being completely revamped also were harmless. If you want all these retail features go and play there.
We DO already have mount and pet tabs in Wrath. It’s only the Account wide sysstem he’s asking for.
And that is according to me a no-go in Wrath Classic
IF we WANTED shared Achivements, Mounts, Pets, Rep ect ect WE WOULD PLAY RETAIL NOT CLASSIC its already retail esk with the new HC+ ect ect

The only exception is Achievements. Account Achievements could be done through addons.

A fresh character having end game mounts - it doesn’t make any sense to me. If you want account wide mount collection play Retail.
