Why warlock had some ability before dh? Because warlock were in the game before demon hunter obviously. Why they removed ability from warlock to give demon hunter instead of just make demon hunter with its own and let warlock be as it is however I do not know, but if youre asking why warlock had metamorphosis before demon hunter the answer is that warlock have been in the game since 2004, and demon hunter were added in the game in legion in year 2016, 12 years after warlock. In wow maybe. Not in the universe of warcraft. Metamorphosis is an ability of demon hunter since warcraft 3, before WOW was even released. It was used by Illidan in TBC, too. What was the logic to give it to warlock - I dont know. Its not warlock ability by design and by lore.
The concept of demon hunter is way older than concept of the warlock, so it was a mistake to give it to warlock in wotlk, not a mistake to give it to DH in legion.
Well we are playing wow not wc3, they made meta for demo cause they thought it would be cool and it were, they could also add it back for demo to have instants and shift their dmg from pets more to the lock itself. like tauren warlocks, draenei rogue , tauren rogue, where can we keep going, lore dosent make sense since start of the game anyway, meta for demonology was like bread and butter of the spec, spec was fun and everything , you had pets, when you went meta your spells changed and was cool , ask every warlock main since wotlk that play today they will all tell you they miss meta, the zoo pet AI gameplay is boring , we got 3 specs now just different icons , bm and uh dk , imo atleast back then classes and spec had their own uniqueness now you cant tell diff between bm or demo cause they play same except for bm having no cast time and not be able to be innterrupted
Now even more than ever I miss having that instant to spam, turn into form and start pressing instant. Now I have to juke for days just to see 1 precog so some paladin can use one of his hundred defensives and immunities after I have tried juke 20 times while some moronic player even forgot he has kick binded.
A lot ppl cry about demo pets, if they shifted more into the warlock himself that would please everyone, but in any case they have to do something. Locks design is so outdated and stupid if you hard cast whole spellbook but also kite everything in there. The times you can afford to not run, you juke nonstop for precog till you can cast and meanwhile some retri, dh, ww, uhdk combo have just been doing 123 effortlessly on your behind.
But naaaaah, lets rework paladin instead and make it holy wizard and bloat it with nuclear dmg and defensives. That will be super good and FUN! So nice, I can see the brain power that went into making this specs design. Half its abilities are something automated and passive procs and even now anyone can play the spec with OBR for 2.4 in shuffles, that is just so nice. What an wonderful class designing and balancing we have. And lets not even waste too much time describing VW Discs if we can just sum it in stand mid map and press smite, sometimes even remembers press pain sup.
“We want ANYONE who do damage to feel powerful, even your moms”… So they bloated some specs with so much power and if people mom press 123 they got chance to kill AWC player if procs/crits and other multigans alight. - they cannot balance game like that.
Ever wondered why they introduced ultra fast paced meta? because its low skill with high luck factor, so even worst of worst can see wining screen just by spamming 123 - they cannot balance from that standpoint, its FPS shooter territory
Another bad approach is % participation out of control, naturaly people swarm like rats to play specs which are OP, like flies come on p00p thats how those players come to undeserved win feast, than entire game consist of few playable specs while rest act as cannon meat. Logical move woud be to nerf those classes or buff others to create opposition, but they usually buff those who are well preforming even more because “popularity” - again you cannot balance game like that.
Slow balancing machinery - They really need to look how riot do balancing things, they striping rewards, stoping ques with certin heroes if something is broken with power balance. And more important they are capable to do fixes daily, and there in WoW we need to wait 1 moonth go get minor balancing fixes. - they cannot balance game like that
Their approach need to change if they wish to balance this game.
When one class is strong meta without opposition, and entire fun comes form suffering of others, its not skill, its source of hatred and disrespect in this game. - This is dogma which shoud leads them to prepare game for AWC.

When I look at the forums most posts I see are about pvp. So yes, pvp isnt a “minigame” as pvers like to cope with. Lets not pretend they dont like to whine either. And most people would want to PvP. Its world of WARcraft after all, not world of dragonkillers.
Ive been saying this for a decade - If blizzard focuses more on PvP the game would be better, there would be more players, classes would be better designed, thered be higher player retention as PvPers dont need as much new content to keep playing - just a good environment where skill expression and skill growth is possible

Not with how easy it is to gear without going into competitive, which is just for flexing and transmogs. You also provide an example on the current neglected form of the gamemode. Try looking at peak 2006-2010 wrath/tbc data intead. Of course PvP wouldnt being revenue if its neglected and only Pve is catered to. Even a 2year old can figure that out.
Fact is, WoW PvP has no equal on the market with its design, skill requirement, dynamics and gameplay. Not capitalizing on this is foolish.

Sadly yes. Nowadays nobody likes to invest to improve and would rather milk on life support while cutting costs for short term gain at the expense of longterm revenue loss. People(capitalists) are just stupid and cant think longterm
Once you get into boosting communities (my friends boost raids) you will understand the scale of it. It’s insane how much gold you can earn while not even being great at the game. A bit above average players can boost PvE. The scale of the whole thing literally terrified me. In last season of DF I was helping one of these “boosting discords” as loot body as well. The amount of customers of these services would blow your mind. Why PvE boosting even matters? Simple PvE and PvP boosters work in the same communities. With boosting raids/M+ you can earn so much gold you can buy almost any boost you want for gold maybe besides rank 1.
Literally most players don’t even play this game legit way. Top PvP players boost PvP to buy PvE boosts if necessary and other way around. People are so lazy they even buy Delves boosts. Even people who participate in World First raids do it. Basically their orgs spends plenty of money on tokens so they buy exclusive boosts for their chars. All loot belongs to exclusive boostee unless he cannot wear it. Does this game even make sense anymore? The nonsense of the situation is even crazier. Boosters when they gear new alts buy boosts themselves.
To give you perspective. My friend who started boosting in the middle of the last season and isn’t a really top player earned over 15 mln gold already. It was just few months. Imagine how much gold do people who boost since Legion have. I heard that some Middle Eastern people literally made this a way to earn money for their life. Mostly Iranians. They earn tons of gold and then sell it illegally with different methods.
It’s also very hard to track because most boosters play on VPN.
Boosting besides botting and mission tables contributes to insane gold inflation in this game. It’s basically a meaningless currency now. As long as it stays this way this game will keep dying slowly. It won’t be a sudden death but slow agony like Arthur in RDR2.
No matter what arguments people bring boosting ruins this game. It’s one of the reasons why we have less and less players and why no new players will treat the game serious.

Its not wc3, its an different game and an mmo which blizz can do anything at all they want. This is also pvp forum and not rp or lore forum and I doubt no one here care of debates about “but dh had burning eyes in wc3 so it is only logical their eye beams hits one billion damage numbers!” well I also have abilities called “death” and “incinerate” buddy and I’m not here trying silly debates based on some lore or wordings of abilities to ask they should immediately kill my opponents. % participation of spec is holy grail there, even if you dont know anything about balance, just look into % participation of specs can gief you glimpse what need to be nerfed what need to be buffed. According the fact how people swarm to play OP stuff like flies swarm onto p00p.
Its OK if some spec have like 20% more participation than others, it can be popularity… but when we have situation when few specs occupy 90% of games we have problem and its obvious sight something must be done.
And it must be done within week, but in blizzard they let circus stretch across moonths, entire season even. And this need to change. When something is broken, there shoud no be hesitation, mercy or “let people paly”, because fun of those OP classes is builded on suffering of others.
