Played that but even that got ruined by these incompetent retail developers. Pay2win boost, store mounts etc. Ruins immersion. Rather play private then.
Did you try doing pet battles, kyrian ascended arena, venthyr ember court, necrolord construct fashion, darkmoon faire, world events, archaeology? There are plenty interesting events, mini games. If you dont like any of that, then its your problem, but dont lie there is no content thats not dungeons/raids/pvp.

Weird, my queue isn’t grayed out if I go Unholy or Frost with horrible stats for my gear.
This is very strange because I can still start a key as Frost even with a 190 ilvl legendary.
Still more to collect and get 100% instead of just complaining on the forums, but I guess that is your endgame goal isn’t it?
Only point I agree with you on.
This is beyond wrong and you’re being dishonest on purpose. WoW has a megatons of those things, if you don’t like them that’s your problem. If you think the game has “no fun activities” at all, have some respect for your time and our synapses, and leave these forums. You clearly have nothing to do with WoW and want nothing to do with WoW, why are you here?
Nah, housing we had with the Garrisons in WoD, but guild housing would be nice; really helpful for RP purposes.
“Boomers”, I guess you like using words you dont know the meaning of. WoW main demographic has never been boomers.
Well it is the weekend. The time of hate speech. When the moderators are doing overtime on Facebook.
It is true that there aint much to do, but that doesn’t mean game needs more casual content. I mean the best iteration of game was when they didn’t really care about players time and just built the world for players to play in. Now they be like casuals can’t do this and that, so lets limit how much hardcore players can do. And how much has casual content actually saved the game? I don’t see battle pets pulling the crowd.
Thats funny becouse current wow have way way more stuff to do than any expansion preLegion yet somehow there ia nothing to do while in past if you didnt raid there was absolutly nothing for you as casual player.
Didn’t take long for those true colours to shine through. You wanted to make another Final Fantasy Thread without falling afoul of the ‘No Duplicate threads’ rule.
But OK, Lets go with that. For a start, that is not the actual impression that people I know, whose judgment I trust have gotten of FFXIV. Some things it does amazingly, but you do get people chatting utter whiff when they say “Oh, the community there are all lovely” Yeah… Just ain’t so. Probably even less lovely now that a certain chucklehead has gone to play it and his sycophantic drones have followed on. Because they’re -such- lovely people.
FF will need to stick around longer to really hit its stride as an RPG, by which I mean an actual Role Playing Game. One thing that really used to let that franchise down, right from the start was the fact that it had no consistency. Every one of its games (With one exception) was a totally separate world with different rules, different races, different graphics styles (I hated FF9 for that). All you could rely upon was that the currency was always going to be Gil. There would always be Moogles somewhere (And people say -WoW- is cartoony! ) and probably at some point a chocobo race. Or just chocobo’s in general.
You ever looked at a Chocobo, and a Hawkstrider? Know the difference? The latter was graphically coded by someone who actually knows how bipedal flightless birds that can kick your head off work… Chocobo’s look like a budgie that took loads of 'roids and had a botox failure.
For a game to be an RPG it needs a consistent setting that if not remaining static, does at least segue and include the older stuff, just expands upon it. WoW has that. Square have not got enough experience of needing to do that yet, we need to give FFXIV a few more years to see if they have learned it.
So anyway, you use the overworn tired phrase ‘Boomers’. “Retail wow is basically Dauntless for boomers”
I mean objectively, you’re just wrong, the two games are not similar in that regard, but also that seems a very specific age grouping, did you really mean to use the overused word ‘Boomer’?
Do you…know what a Boomer is? (Apart from an American Nuclear Submarine, but that’s a different context…)
So given that you have two types of generation that have ‘Boomer’ as one of their epithets, you are saying that WoW is specifically a game for Baby Boomers, so people now aged between 57 and 75, and Generation Y, also known as Echo Boomers, so people now aged between 25 and 40.
That is seriously what you are saying is it?
Damn…Guess all us Gen X’ers and Zoomers are playing the wrong game…
Actually in fairness, that sort of attitude -would- kill the game if they adopted it. People always bang on about Casuals and LFR and the Elite, without realising what utterly childish terms they are to use.
It’s a computer game. As long as the game is fun, people will play it. because it is a -GAME-, and therefore should be maximising the fun aspect. It’s not a sport, and no, ‘E-Sport’ is a ridiculous term with little to no meaning and does not correlate with actual sports at all.
So basically people play this for enjoyment. The vast majority of those people?
They’re not your top end raiders. It does need more people working on the game, for sure, I think that is a pretty undeniable fact, but how many times have you seen these ‘elite players’ who pompously say “I Just level through Dungeons and Raids”?
Those aren’t helpful to the game development either. I mean seriously, if you’re not getting out into the world and actually questing, but just sit in a city waiting for your instance to pop are you even really playing an MMORPG? Blizz should not cater solely to that mentality, and thankfully, they don’t.
I mean that is like saying “If You’re not a top football player in the premiere league then why should you bother having a kickaround in the park with your mates.?”
It is just a game, and as such, should be fun as a game, not an exercise in pixelated accountancy.
Well, they kinda have…
Just turn Warmode off, and you never have to worry about it.
Might actually, on reflection, be why I find the gameworld is still pretty full. I play with Warmode off, perhaps those who play it with Warmode on are the ones claiming the gameworld is empty. That actually does make a degree of sense…
Housing would be nice though…
Not interested in pet battle mobile game. Kyrian ascended nah it’s more boring dull combat, venthyr can’t cause you can only join 1 convenant member, and I’m not going to torture myself with this useless grind that retail calls leveling. Necro same, can’t. darkmoon fair is so old,. did that in cata no interest anymore, it’s also at random times there I wanna have fun on MY TERMS no on theirs, eitherway it’s old, boomery and boring anyway. World event is more boring boomer hotkey combat. Arch, did that in cata, was fun back then.
lol no. just stating a fact, I know it’s hard for the ultra addicts with 10k forums posts and god know how many wow 3 retail hours. But I was simply stating a fact. As I said before I DON’T like FFXIV. I might try it because it can’t be worse than retail wow but I really don’t like it from the looks etc.
However objectively; FFXIV is better, has more content for casuals and harder content for hardcore players. 8players mythic raids so you can’t get carried for instance. Again just stating that FFXIV does have that content and there is basically no excuse that wow doesn’t. It has 100x the budget prolly so make it happen.
What does that even mean? Isn’t Dauntless a Monster Hunter clone? How does it relate to WoW?
Yes, but i have to know!
Well, ye, it’s a Monster Hunter clone, but with looks / graphics closer to wow, hence why I used that.
What does it even mean, well.
Let’s boil down the MH / Dauntless gameplay;
-sit in city, wait for boss, kill bosses, do quests / dailies.
Let’s boil down retail wow gameplay;
-sit in city or the openworld, wait for boss of your difficulty, kill bosses, do quests / dailies.
Today, retail wow is pretty much Dauntless but with an open-world that is absolutely useless. Prolly why MH and Dauntless didn’t do that. Anyway the boomer part is because the combat is so extremely slow and boring in wow. It’s still hotkey, it’s low skill, it’s slow etc. A big reason why only old people play any version of wow today.
Well anyway this is how I came up with a boomer version of Dauntless. It’s basically Dauntless with an open-world today. Yes Dauntless has crafting etc as well. Mounts, it’s all there so no point in bringing that up. MH even has housing. Arguably they have about the same or more casual content than wow, that is sad. They just lack an open world with trash to waste your time.
If you dont like the game and have no sugestions to improve it maybe its time to move on?
Go play other games?
Go do other stuff in life?
If i didnt enjoy WoW i wouldnt be here, thats for sure. Im no masoquist.
Wish there were other games, I am waiting for releases but ye sub should run out in a few weeks.
I already do other stuff, atm I’m looking to get a nice pool in the yard. Thats gonna be fun. Meanwhile I would like for more casual stuff in 10.0. Like housing, flying saucer etc. I’m sure they can think of more non mandatory, non combat, FUN content. Mini games maybe.
Agree with you. Many of other activities I used to find fun are not fun anymore either… like mount collecting. They felt unique in the early days because they were hard to get, unique mounts were scarce… now ther are 50 new mounts each patch, I do not get excited with new mounts even if i like how they look… like, yayy, another new mount, big deal, I will get 50 more soon just by playing. I was a raider for years but they are just not worth going through the BS systems blizz comes up with, when in the end, they will all be irrelevant in the next patch or expansion pack and I would just have to go through a new boring grind again to get to the content I enjoy. I play TBC with friends nowadays and I love it…
Ye i think it’s also because there are so many mounts. It’s not special anymore. A wow 2 would solve that.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading for post and seeing how you absolutely destroyed the negative people.
I like you.
He only destroyed his keyboard and time writing that wall of nonsense. Nobody agrees and he was factually wrong on all points.
This game had its last innovation in legion 6 years ago. Now it is just a reskin from legion, (bfa).
I wish they would add new content and not every addon the same stuff. World Quests, Dailies, M+, PVP, Raid. Thats it. Let us play the addon not the patch. Dont make old tier usless because normal gear is better than mythic from last tier. And make old content relevant again and fix scaling. Add housing to the game. Make the darkmoon fair a fun place and always up. Bring some casual content to spend time. Add a card game or something like that. hearthstone light or a different version for example let us collect cards and play vs npc over the world and vs players.
They could do so much but choose not to.
