Retrieving realm list and character not found (Oct 22, 2025)

I can log into characters in the Dun Modr realm just fine. I cannot log into characters in ANY other realm. Please explain to me how this is an issue on my end.

I’m sorry but this might be the dumbest analogy possible for the situation everyone here is reporting. Every here is saying they can log into the game and load into character on the 1 realm/server that they are presented but can’t move to other realms to go onto other characters.

By your own analogy logic the issue we are all dealing with is more like I am inside the building of the concert but when i try and move from one from to another inside the building the doors are locked.

I would understand if the issue was only on my machine, as you must be aware, the issue is reported already in multiple topics

Which is why we’re trying to see if there’s some common traits between the affected players (be it a specific realm, a specific country or ISP, etc.).

and how it’s ISP is related that I can play on Silvermoon, but can’t switch to Draenor

because they have issues with "middle man"in EU, when you connect to something on internet it go through many servers, and sometimes one service in servers can have bug/misconfigured, and it create a choke point with one place
and for few year already, people from spain/italy/etc had very high pings/disconnects for no reason of their own, and they needed to use VPN to change the server route/trace to fix the lag/disconnects, so they avoid the one bad server which is overloaded/misconfigured

Me and my husband are playing WoW together. We are sitting in the same room, using the same internet connection.
On his account everything works well, he can retrieve the realms list and switch between realms freely
I’m sitting in the same room using the same internet connection can log in to Silvermoon only and get errors when trying to log in to Draenor or Tarren Mill. It’s not a provider’s issue

After a bit of testing it seems im able to ONLY log into my Remix Chars OR characters on that same realm. Sadly i made my remix chars on different servers to my main chars for naming reasons. Also last night when i logged off, it was those remix chars i was playing across my accounts.

Most of my characters got stuck in 90% loading screen followed by a character not found. This keep happening for the last 8-9 hours

Let’s imagine that you’re trying to go to a concert, but for some reason are unable to, and contact the venue:

• If your car is broken, or if you ran out of fuel, then there’s not much that the venue can do, as much as they’d like to help you. This may happen to a few concert goers, and they may each have a different issue. It doesn’t mean that there’s anything wrong going on at the venue.
• If you can’t enter the venue because the gate at the parking lot is broken, preventing everyone to park, and therefore preventing everyone with a car to attend the concert, then that’s something the venue can intervene on.

Wow, thank you much for breaking that down with such a brilliant car analogy. My tiny, confused brain could finally keep up. Allow me to return the favor with one of my own: the gate you mentioned? Yeah, turns out it only opens for cars that have already been inside the venue before. Any new arrivals just sit there revving their engines while the regulars cruise right through.

I would be suprised if this isn’t a widespread issue, as I’ve been hearing from many people they’re experiencing this issue, please fix it.

Cleared cache doesnt solve.
I’m experiencing it on all characters on Tarren Mill, even tho I played them yesterday.

I have tried it (from your post earlier in this thread) and it made no difference for me. Still can’t retrieve realms list, still can’t login into characters on any realm other than the one I last logged into.

Currency transfer as in, the in-game mechanic that allows you to transfer warbound currencies among characters in your warband? Yes I did use it yesterday night to consolidate my Timewarped Badges into a single character.

Still the same WOW51900309 message when i want to change realms manually. Logged out on Ghostlands realm yesterday and can’t log in on any char that’s not on Ghostlands.
Plenty of fuel, the road seems to be missing…
Could the small update yesterday that made realms unavailable have caused an issue?

No, i didn’t do anything last few days, just regular activities.
And clearing cache doesn’t help me. I get error while requesting realms list from blizzard servers, which leads to my client being able to use only last retrieved realm i played on yesterday.
For some reason we are just getting error response on the request, it’s not local cache unfortunately

I don’t see how currencies would be related to not being able to retrieve server list. Feels like speculation. What we do know is that a number of people cannot log into characters on any realm other than the realm they last logged into.

or maybe they changed the IP of realm list service, and DNS server didn’t update the new IP

can you try this
this command line will change your DNS server to all of your network connections:
WinKey + X => pick PowerShell (Admin) => write/copy/paste Set-DnsClientServerAddress -InterfaceAlias * -ServerAddresses 1.1.1.1 then enter => then write/copy/paste ipconfig /flushdns then enter
