It has been a long time since Argent Dawn has known freedom from the tyranny of a certain individual.
However it was recently announced that this individual has since departed from the game. For my friends and I this has been a moment of celebration. The individual’s departure has not been without sacrifice and hardship along the way. I’d like to invite you all to celebrate with me and many others on this occasion.
I think we can all agree that no individual nor group should ever have total monopoly on a server such as this. Individual creativity and ideas should always drive the hobby we love as we come here for freedom not subjugation.
While a chapter ends many roleplayers both old and new are coming/returning to our server for Dragonflight. I think we can all agree that this is a great time to be a roleplayer!

A month into an expansion while the raid is still coming out and the holidays are only just starting to wind down? Nah, not the best.
Might be a great time for you though, if you’re so obsessed with one dude that it was having that much of a negative impact. Still a bit weird to treat it like the end of some sort of hero’s journey though.
There’s no evil defeated, a dude who barely played but you let live in your head for too long just publicly logged off.

It’s actually been common knowledge he’s been away from the game for nearly two years.
It’s not that big of a deal it’s sad to see a big organizer of the old Rp-pvp campaigns leave and sure the community has a large following however, I wouldn’t say they had the monopoly of RP at all for there was many other groups outside of that one big collective. There are still other communities as well. Did they fill in all types of RP? Yes. They offered that.
And though, I don’t have great ties to that group or anything of the sort I still think it’s not a good thing that they left nor a bad one either. It is simply the passing of times. People come and go all the time.
It is unfortunate that we will never see those grand scale designs of Campaigns again though perhaps. I wish him nothing but the best as well as the community under it’s new leadership and hopefully we can all work together as the Horde side community.

There’s no monopoly. Nothing has ever stopped people putting their own efforts into events, scenarios and personal character driven RP.
Then again none of this is new, is it. It’s always that as soon as someone starts to garner attention because they’re putting some initiative forward that they’ll gain a satellite of people who accuse them of ‘taking over’ or ‘controlling’ things. The realm’d be so much better off if half the effort put into scrutinising some other RP organiser for wrongdoing was put into crafting RP and encouraging a vibrant community.

Think what you want of the guy as a person, but what’s really happened here is that one of AD’s most prolific creators of RP events and storylines has left the game, probably for all time.

I literally don’t know what people are talking about. But I assume it’s something against PCU again?
I’ve been roleplaying with Dust Devils and other Horde guilds for a while now and never has the PCU hassled me, the Conquest even acted some good RP on Blondie’s more criminal behaviour.
Jokes aside, if people are celebrating someone just… quitting a game and moving over to either an different interest or responsibilities, more power to the person who wants to move on.
This isn’t exactly the liberation of Paris we’re talking about here.

No but all I can really do is second this:
Though I’ve self-lobotomised to forget a lot of my earlier days on Argent Dawn (alas some sins you must take with you to the grave), I’ll always remember the absolutely massive server campaigns Perroy used to run back in the day, the sort that buckled the server under the weight of so many gamers in the same place at the same time. Then I think of all the other people who’ve quit since then, and can’t help but feel rather sad.
It’s like the final outro of that one particular Korean flipbook drawing that makes me cry every tim;
So many big names lost; and we may never see their like or such times again…
