Hello everyone, i preordered TWW expansion since last year and i thought as it’s launch date approaches i’ll watch some guides and pick a class/spec to main but that proves harder than i expected because i looked at 10 tier lists and all of the where different.
I would like to play a caster because before quiting i mained melee. I was thinking shadow priest but people don’t think it will do good in the next expansion due to the rework it suffered. I played a lock in wow classic up to WOTLK and i don’t think i’ll be able to play the retail lock without feeling weird due to the changes it suffered over the years.
What i want is a class that can do well solo but not be dead last on metters/utility/survivability so no one will want to take it to group content be it pve or pvp at casul levels not try hard.
At this point even i’m realising mage is the only way to go, but maybe there is still hope? Or is any melee doing exceptionally well in the beta?
Technically I only look at one tier list, and that is the “Is this fun for me to shoot at list?” I’ve been literally a mage since Vanilla times and will be until my frozen breath in ice block.
As a sidenote when I got the boost tokens I used one on a priest and enjoyed it so I occasionally also play Discopriest.
I looked at tier lists not to see what spec will be meta because i will not be playing at that level, but to see what people think about different classes/specs going into TWW because the last expansion i played was Warlords of Draenor so i have no clue what classes are like today, i remember them as they where 10 years ago + the fact that i played wow classic further cemented that view in my mind, not to mention classes like DH/Evoker didn’t exist back then.
I liked the old lock, but from what i’ve been reading about the new one i don’t think ill enjoy it. Same goes for shadow priest wich i played during cataclysm when it was “live” not classic and i feel like the spec was reworked to a point where i wouldn’t recognize it.
Those are some of the reasons why i can’t go with a class/spec that i think i’ll have fun with (more like relax while playing), i don’t know what’s what anymore in terms of feel to play after these overhauls - like i found out surv hunter is now a melee.
TBH I made this post mostly because otherwise i might have just played my old ret wich i loved but blizz keeps hating and i don’t want that kind of toxic relation in my life again:)
