This is really a conversation that applies to all of pvp but i’d assume the arena section of the forum would be less in touch with my views on the current situation.
First of all I’ve been an on and off player since 2005. I played every expansion to some extend with the most time involved in OG tbc, Cata, Legion, BFA and more recently Classic + TBC Classic.
The question I have is the following:
Am I the only one that feels pvp has been going in a less enjoyable direction in recent expansions?
The arrival of classic really made this clear for me.
I feel like pvp in classic and tbc is clear and understandable and I generally understand where I go wrong when I lose and vice versa when I win. The game feels more simple and easier to pick up. Also slower, but I mean this in a good way. Current pvp is just so fast I can’t follow.
Since tbc classic is coming to an end I decided to try the Wotlk beta and did some arenas. The burst is so insane the games are done before I realise a rogue opened on me, this is in full pvp gear with gems and enchants. The new spells, expansion of classes kits and the coming of DKs is too much for me and I don’t enjoy it personally.
So I tried again on retail, and that’s even harder for me to get into with covenants, all the extra different classes. No option to grind better gear without getting more renown also makes it hard to have fun before grinding for it feels like is going to be months.
I just want to hear if someone else feels like me in this case.
I realise this isn’t super realistic but what I would like is just classic or tbc pvp servers, pve content comes to a halt but seasons keep going and continue to work like they are now, honor gives you season x-2 rewards and arena gives current and x-1 gear. Every year or so you get a reset.
I have a character on classic era but queues are not very regular and there’s only BG’s with no rewards left to get.
I know wrath is above my skillcap.
I will try the Dragonflight pvp but I can’t imagine it becoming more approachable with yet another class coming that can literally fly.
What is your opinion on the matter, and what do you enjoy most about pvp?
I personally would like to be able to queue for some BG’s, get acceptable gear and be able to reach 1500 rating in arena with said gear (like currently in tbcc)
