Hi all,
Im returning to wow after a year and a half almost. Last year i tried playing wow and bought the subscription in the undermined patch - hoping id play but couldnt (so my 6 mo sub down the drain). This time im giving it a try once more
So my anxeity is at an all time high. Id like to login tomorrow and start..
i need you guys to help me go through this, what do i do? do i start from where i left off? or jump straight into the 11.2.7 content and then im worried might get lost/confused along the way.
I like to explore the war with in story as well.. So where do i start and how do i do it with out anxiety taking over

I would catch up on the main storyline first and then decide what you want to do once you’ve caught up.

Also sub 1 month and cancel after a few days so you won’t get billed again, if you enjoy the game now you can always consider buying the Midnight pack and any additional gametime you’d like.

Heads up from one returning player to another - was also gone for a year. Do not get overwhelmed like I did. I would suggest continue with the campaign and forget the side quests for now - go back to those in your own time or as I am doing tackle one zone at a time. With the anniversary buff we catch up renown pretty fast too.
Be warned though when you get to Karash - there is a campaign quest called Restore the Eco Dome. Bite the pillow hard as it is boring AF and very very (actually unnecessary) long. The one good thing about it is that as returning players when we finish it we complete it with all achievements and rewards.
I would also suggest do it all on one character and don’t chop and change until the campaign is complete.

Just this week a brand new returning player experience has been added - on login this should be offered to you as an option - I suggest you take it!
It’s a short questline in Arathi which acts as a refresher to how the game works and awards a set of useful gear to get you started.
At the end it will port you back to Dornogal - where there is a also new story recap mode to help you get caught up!
I would say just unsub and find something better to play. Or go to classic there comes no suprises and you know how all ends
Yeah the campaign, see all the story and get it all clocked off first. Then see what you fancy doing next.

I always start with the latest content then work my way backwards, if I feel like it. Because it typically is outdated and lonely. I’d do Ka’resh questline. Not sure if you have to do other things though first to unlock that.

I recommend picking up where you left off because… 1) No one’s chasing you; 2) This way you’ll understand the story well; and 3) This expansion is now finished and you can take it easy.
