Returning player - How is BM?

Hi
Im a returning player. I was trying out monk and doing fine in brewmaster, but I find it really hard to tank, like i quitted wow in the first place due to wrist and carpel tunnel issues of all that clicking sometimes messes me up just after a single dungeon. Not sure if I spam spells to much but it feels harder to tank as BW as any other wow classes.

I choose monk as my main tank because everybody told me that BM was the go to tank for raids?

Why are you deciding upon what is the current best tank for mythic raiding?
Are you planning to go for mythic raiding in the future?
If you find other tanks easier for your health then i dont see why would you go for BM other than being current “best”

Any tank can tank heroic raids and all of mythic by now. Choosing the best would only matter if you were to run for the world first race.

Hina has a good point. Every tank is viable.
Choosing the best one is only for min/max purposes for those who actually compete in the world first race.

Brewmasters are the absolute gods of mythic raiding atm and top tier for mythic+ as well.

However, as the guys above me stated, if you aren’t looking forward to push ranks in mythic raids or do very high keys, you shouldn’t imprison yourself in a frame to play whatever is the current meta.

All this aside, brewmaster is probably the most tricky tank to master. Once you do, however, the playstyle and gameplay is incredibly rewarding and fun, you can do amazing plays with a brewmaster both in mythic and dungeons. Overall the only thing they lag behind other classes is the aoe damage and overall dps, but it’s usually not an issue as much.

As for difficulty? I can’t say its harder than the other classes, but for sure it takes more time to get used to managing your stagger and keeping your Ironskin Brew up permanently, than for example, using shield walls and spamming ignore pain on warriors.

And about the spamming thing. You could try to watch at the GCD and just click spells when the GCD is off, that would save you some wrist and finger pain. Once you get used to it, you will automatically know when to start mashing your buttons instead of spamming endlessly and causing strain to your wrist and fingers.

Unless you’re going mythic raiding and/or higher keys 20+…

Your best tanking class is the one you enjoy it the most on. Because you’ll perform better on that than having a FOTM Mindset. Look at the fantasy if it appeals to you and go from there.
