Returning player looking for a casual/social guild/realm recommendation

Hey guys,

After some time without WoW, I find myself yearning to return to the world of Azeroth. However, before I dive back in, I thought I’d seek out some advice from the knowledgeable members of this forum.

In the past, I’ve had a bit of a sporadic relationship with WoW. I’d come back every now and then, eager to embark on epic campaigns and progress through levels. However, I often found myself feeling disconnected and somewhat isolated, especially compared to the social and guild experiences I had in the early days of WoW. This lack of community left me feeling a bit disheartened, and I’d inevitably find myself drifting away from the game after just a few weeks. I am stuck on Burning Legion realm as in 2006-2010 all of my friends were there but right now nothing is left for me there except big disappointment and few memories.

This time around, I’m determined to change that as I still have a warm feeling of nostalgia towards the game and I do enjoy the gameplay. I’m looking for a realm and a guild that embrace a more casual approach to gaming, one where I can enjoy PvE content without feeling the pressure to constantly grind or rush through content, where I could attend some casual raids with the guild or just meet some new people. I miss the sense of belonging that comes with being part of a vibrant community, and I believe finding the right realm and guild could make all the difference.

So, dear forum members, I turn to you for guidance. Do you have any recommendations for realms or guilds that cater to casual players like myself? Any place where I could transfer my character of maybe create a new one if WoW Classic would end up being a better place for me.

Thank you in advance for your help, and I look forward coming back to the game and meeting new people.

Hey there! =)

There are definitely still social guilds about. Ours aims to be one of those; and we value a more casual approach to the game. Many of us have IRL commitments that means we can’t spend that much time rushing through it all, so we do what we can and help one another out.

You’re welcome to look over our recruitment thread and see what you think!

Hi Kreaven,

Welcome back to WOW!! I think my guild could be a good fit for you, we do raid and mythic+ but we have a social heart. There’s always lots of chat and banter in discord and we have several events planned through the week with 2 raid nights and a mythic+ night. We also enjoy social events with tonight being one! I’ve linked our add below, if you would like a chat add me  . Either way I hope you find a home that gets you back in love with the game!

Hi Kreaven!

Although we’re not a “casual” guild as such, I hear what you’re saying and Soul Crusaders (Turalyon/Doomhammer) endeavours to do just that. We’re a friendly bunch and have a no-pressure approach to the game, and our members. However, we do enjoy organised content and successful progress. We have scheduled M+ with different key brackets for each night (Wed, Thurs, Fri) and raid - clearing Normal first and then moving onto Heroic (we even dipped our toes into the early Mythic bosses for a laugh in S3 and might do so again in S4) on Sun and Tues nights. Our scheduled runs are all set for 21:20 ST - 23:00 ST, to allow for our busy lives and work and family commitments.

There is no strict requirement to sign up for every night - real life happens! The more you can attend, the better, for your experience, learning and gearing and also from that social and teamwork perspective too, but we have many members who work shifts or can only attend certain nights etc.

We do have minimum requirements, but they can mostly be summarised into being respectful of others, taking initiative to learn/improve/be ready, being aware of your / your character’s limits, and being a team player. These qualities go so much further than strict attendance or gear requirements.

Creation of the guild was inspired in 2007, by the stark contrast between “casual” guilds (chaos, no progress, no organisation) and raiding guilds (unrealistic requirements and heavy penalties) and to this day, we strive to be a happy medium in the middle of those extremes. It’s not easy, but we do our best
