So I’ve been pretty much out since just before the Shadowlands launch and have recently returned and after a week of deciding to switch it up and go for a caster I’ve remembered why I’ve always played melee. Anyway I’m looking at a Warrior or DK, I’ve mained both in the past but was wondering what people thought of the warrior at the moment.
I’ll be mostly solo casual PvE that’s the main goal, maybe a little PvP later but no keys or any high end stuff. I’m basically after the state of Warriors to see if they’re still suitable for solo content and what are the state of the specs currently and which would you suggest or would a DK be better suited for my needs. Oh I’ll be mainly dps too my tanking days are long gone.
I find warrior, especially arms very rewarding. Critting for 380K and be able to mitigate massive damage is huge. I could tell storys but find out, you wont regret playing it
Any class and spec can do World stuff in bare minimum gear.
It’s hard to tell someone else what is fun to play but I love the shouting, charging, leaping and smashing fools gameplay of Warrior. Something like DK always feels a bit dull even though they do have some cool spells.
For pugging and low effort raiding
Arms and Fury are mid to good. Prot is mid to bad. Utility is largely irrelevant at this point in the raiding season so it just comes down to dps/healing numbers. Summary, the DPS specs are OK the tank spec is kinda weak but serviceable.
For M+
Arms is mid to good. Fury is better, on average, but Arms can beat it with some try harding. Prot is weaker than the current top tanks.
All specs have low group utility and don’t do ‘the most damage in the game’ which is why they get rejected from the pugging scene at higher key levels. DK’s don’t fare any better on the pugging scene either. Their utility is only slightly better than Warrior (for 5 man content).
