Returning player: Missing old character

I’ve recently returned to WoW after a long hiatus. Fun to see some of my old and first characters; but it seems like I’m missing a Human Paladin I created in probably… 2008 or 2009.

I’ve followed the steps outlined in the relevant support article, still no dice.

I cannot for the love of me remember which realm it was on, but something in the back of my mind tells me it’s maybe Zenedar.

What else can I do?

Click on the forum portrait up in the right corner and try looking for it in the change character menu at the very bottom of the dropdown menu.

Alternatively you could search for a “missing” character with the automated item restoration service

https://eu.support.blizzard.com/en/restoration?flowTrackingId

you just need to begin the process without completing it to be presented with a list of all your characters.

If you still can’t find the character, perhaps you’ve deleted it at some point, but unfortunately character restoration now goes back only up to 365 days for max level characters and I assume it is proportionally much shorter for lower levels.

Existing characters should be simple to find in-game on the server view table by view filtering certain columns, including those who were flagged for name change due to prolonged inactivity (and yours probably qualifies).

I ended up making a ticket, but your approach actually worked to help me find other characters I thought I had lost. Thank you!
