Um like what is the point of raiding if this exists? I just spent 4 hours in a pug in vaults of incarnate to get my pretty shoulders and now anyone can get them just like that?

no not anyone can get them just like that, they need to get a shoulder piece of an equal ilvl first, and its a bad luck protection system.

none of the loot will matter in a few months its not a trophy

You’re trolling, right? catalyst is one of their best features, imagine someone not playing an inch of raiding and is locked behind their tier sets for obvious reasons to push higher keys (pretty much season 3-4 SL)

And u just wanna screw them over? u can’t hate this at all, it literally saves you from bad RNG whatsoever and the guy who though of this need a damn raise and props and a pad on the back.

Difference raiding was only endgame pve place, so sets were meant for it, obtainable from there. Pvp had its own sets and gear progression. Now there is m+ that is even more popular place for pve, either blizz makes different sets for it, or get rid off them fully, cause without catalyst pvp and m+ would be forced to do content they dislike

I will never understand why raiders want content gated from others.

You still have the special rings that drop from raids, on top of hunters having a really strong bow with a unique effect that only drops from the last boss of the raid (plus you get a unique mount every 2 raid tiers, and an extra one in the last season of the raid).

Tier sets are usually more influential, so it is fair if those who do other type of content can get them over time. 6 weeks still sounds like a lot though.

I think of the creation catalyst as more of a safety measure - you’re not guaranteed to get loot from raiding, and this way you are (even though it’s only one piece a week).

It’s why I have tried to sponge up all the non tier gear that no one else wants because I’m not fighting for the tier pieces that drop. I don’t care - I’ll get my tier eventually.

Because People today have gradually less time to play games and devote time to raiding with 10+ people for several hours a day. Some people have careers they dedicated their life to, others have their own families they dedicated their lives to.

This is what I say to ppl but it falls on deaf ears nobody wants to listen the truth.

Correct me if im wrong,but weren’t you able to obtain Ulduar tier sets through Emblem system and through Vault of Archavon raid which was easier than Mythic 0 dungeons?
