Returning player, wondering about factions and realms

So, the last time I played continuously was in BFA and since then it’s been on and off, mostly hopping on my main and doing the main storyline quests and some LFR.

To be honest I quite enjoy the state of the game currently. I am thinking of playing more often but I want to switch to Alliance for transmog and aesthetic reasons.
I like how armors look on my orc but my other characters have tusks, giant ears, fur, horns and hooves sticking out everywhere. Yeah I should have rolled ally to begin with but I wasn’t too big on transmogs back then.

Thing is, I play on Draenor and as far as I remember it’s a horde realm. I don’t want a dead Stormwind, dead LFG/trade chats, or forever queue timers on RDF & LFR.

Should I just transfer to an ally realm, or at this point factions and realms don’t matter anymore? Meaning, will Stormwind be cross-realm in Draenor if there’s no local player population? I know guilds and group content can be cross-faction, e.g. mythic+ or normal and higher raid teams but I’m not sure I want to do that yet.

Guilds are cross faction and cross realm.

LFR, LFD etc are not influenced by your realm. It’s just the Horde or Alliance as a whole. PuG content is mixed.

Also, if you want to see what Stormwind is like on Draenor, taking cross-realm zones into account, just make a new Human and run there.

Alright so basically it doesn’t really matter what faction and realm I choose. That’s great, thank you!
