looking to get back into retail, dont have alot of time to play, would it be best to play a tank for faster LFR etc as dps queue times seem horrifc?

O yeah, tanks have super short queue time. 
If it is between Tank and DPS then of course, Tanks get faster queues. However, if you are playing your druid, then you should do dungeons as Healer as they have the fastest queue times, most sought after in M+ and also get the bonus rewards in LFG/LFR most commonly. You can then set your loot priority to the spec you want to play solo.
