Hello, I picked up my rogue again this week after some time and was after some advice. I haven’t really played since WoD/some legion stuff.
I’m currently playing assassination but wondering what is the best levelling spec? I’ve heard outlaw for the aoe and survivability? Speaking of, how squishy are rogues in pve solo world content? Will I die if I pull more than a couple of mobs? What about soloing elites?
I hear sub is best for pvp but I enjoy sin more, is it viable for casual pvp or should I just take one of the other specs?
Imo Outlaw is purely for the mobility, with the hook etc. but Sub has more ST damage. While the spec mainly depends how you want to level. Dungeon = AOE = Outlaw favored. Openworld/Elites = ST = Sub favored.
These are only my opinions ofcourse, my rogue is lvl 60 but since then I haven’t really played or geared it.
Ok thanks man, I’m just thinking for fast levelling and questing out in the world that’s why I was leaning to outlaw. If Sub is best st isn’t that more situation? Like you said just for elites?
I think I’m going to level him up, trying out all 3 specs to find what I like.
How did you find your rogue while levelling? Are they squish?
They are squish but that is what the class is suppossed to be. You however have an overload of CC spells too deal with accidentally double pulling.
EDIT: I lvled with sub and it went prety good.
But I just don’t like the playstyle of combo points etc. I just lvl all classes too max every xpack, for collection/smog purposes.
Thanks man. Yeah I know they have a pretty decent tool kit to deal with situations. Haven’t played him for a long time but was enjoying him again this week so will give it a blast at levelling and see what happens.
I like to level a few classes also, always have trouble picking a main myself

Been like that since 12 years. Been thinking about going Mage for DF but that is purely for balancing top-PvE reasons. My warrior will always be end-game geared.
Yeah warriors are sweet. Got one at 50 ready to start levering too. I’m kinda torn at min what to play so maybe once the rogue is 60 I’ll jump on my warrior and see which I prefer
