Does anyone see any logic or use for the items that can be bought from Dredgers in Ravendreth?
I’m asking because as my character is venthyr I was expecting that “expanded selection of goods” = things that are useful.
Instead I am getting access to a number of small buffs that can be bought which are usable only in outside areas = no dungeons, no raids, no arenas, no thorghast… etc
This limitation makes those dredger goods pretty much useless. For open world outside content you don’t need any buffs mobs are easy to solo/die quickly.
This also means effectively that one of nadija soulbinds is pretty much useless.
Why to design it in such way that it is effectively a useless feature and even tie it into one of the 7 soulbinds?
I think it’s just to have a zone equivalent to the instruments in Bastion, the Enhancers in Maldraxxus, and the seed buffs (?) In Ardenweald.
So there’s a bit of theme flavor to each.
But it is questionable whether WoW needed yet another currency. I kind of feel like Blizzard should reserve currencies for important matters, not small flavor things. That currency tab only becomes more and more of mess.
I am not even a venthyr, but I have 100 rubies = cap, so I went to look at what I could spend them on so that I don’t just waste new ones as I loot them. The only thing of any interest was a map with things that give more rubies. Meh.
Well I was expecting that things you could buy would be something like this:
Cosmetic thing, area themed (accessed to everyone)
Cosmetic things, venthyr themed (accessed to venthyr characters)
Venthyr themed buffs, leech, soul manipulations, covenant ability modifications (accessible and usable everywhere only when Nadijas expanded selection is active)
That’s sounds to me like a logical and sensible design…
Wowhead has a guide on what they are for etc. Alot of the uses are worldbuffs that give you extra stats while in the open world plus some toys/battle pets
It makes you able to see objects (NPCs) that have something for sale or can be interacted for Rubies…
But again items which they sell are unusable in any game content you would want to/expect to use which gets you to beggining of my post - illogical design
There are vendors in the zone that sell buffs for rubies also there are mini-flight paths that can be activated for rubies (bats fly you to top of towers for example). Not sure if they are Venthyr only though
Those buffs that they sell are completely irrelevant as they are not working in dungons/raids/pvp/thorghast… So content where mobs actually live longer then 5 seconds, there is literally no point of using it and that’s what’s making me see this is an illogical design and a wasted potential.
So the only thing which we can use those Rubies for are effectively:
Mount to run around (available to all)
Bat’s to fly (available to all)
A pet? ( available to all)
A toy (available to all)
You see the common theme here i suppose.
As venthyr characters (and Nadja) we are getting access to “expanded” selection which is completely irrelevant, what’s the point of having it if you cannot use it for anything sensible.
Its essentially a dead soulbinds spot
