The 10 train herb multiboxers won’t be effected by this at all, these changes always end up effecting the average joe far more than the botters/boxers, something Blizzard have never seemed to learn even after a decade of pulling this crap.
who is telling that gold farming from old raid is intended
All you listed is not needed at all to enjoy the games core, which is raiding and dungeon. Most time-restricted casuals don’t have time to care much for mounts, pets and transmogs.
Comparing gold in game with irl money… just LMFAO. You can barely do anything with gold, whereas irl money…
all i know is because of this change after i gear a character in shadowlands moderately i wont have any reason to play the game anymore … as legacy farming was my favourite pass time… and now it is pointless… the game will be dead for me within a month or two of shadowlands.
Blizzard: Men, we need to take care of the botting problem!
Devs: But how!? There are too many! We need funds to hire a team of GMs to investigate the game and ban these bots!
Blizzard: …
Devs: Well? We need help! We are losing players!
Blizzard: Nerf raw gold lol. That will do.
Devs:: Yes that’s a good idea- What!? No! The bots are still farming anyway!
Blizzard: It will work in time, you’ll see.
Devs: We are still losing players and bots keep coming back. Why dont we just ban them!?
Blizzard: NERF. IT.
The nerf is to ensure that you subscribe and grind SL content which will be your new source for obtaining gold.
Sorry for your loss, but raw gold input was way too high.
There are many other options to make gold (and not just afk at the AH with TSM bot).
Which ones? Boosting?
Alchemy /enchanting, also herbing probably gonna be insane money in early SL. So no, not only boosting.
Value is tied to Ilvl… It was the same last squish.
probably true, but they keep forgetting the legacy content all the time? how are people meant to catch up on things? i still dont have the spider mount, and only 1 frog mount. i cant afford them. if i bought the 2 missing frogs i would basically be broke.
they always forget this each time we move into a new expansion, there is still a ton of stuff to do in old expansions, and if you keep tying our hands (gold nerf, lower drop %, terrible rng, impossible to solo some content etc) then we can never do the stuff we want.
i wish they would just stop
not really when we’re talking about some VENDOR items costing 500k-5m.
like?
im only aware of 3, and 2 of them are dependent on how well you play/time manage:
- play the AH (many people dont like this/cant do it)
- boost (again, you might not be anywhere as efficient as the mythic geared people offering this)
- legacy gold farm. this was the best and most consistent way to make gold, since maybe wotlk, or cata at least.
This really needs to change. I am surprised to see they haven’t made heirlooms any cheaper either
exactly. even an item “only” costing 1k-10k will add up FAST if you are a collector. look at how much it costs to fully kit out those heirlooms.
I am a collector, but for me the grind is the rep for mounts - the gold cost should be a couple of thousand tops.
That’s why I am missing many BFA rep mounts… I don’t agree with it.
Heirloom prices scream “buy a token” to new players… get rid of the gold cost and make them rep based.
Ãnna’s first video there is remarkable for suggesting that Darkheart Thicket, of all things, is worth over 7K/hr in raw gold, if you have Skinning and LW with rank 3 Legion Warhide Bindings and Battleground Spaulders, which aren’t terribly hard to get. I haven’t verified this, but it is a pre-patch video, and seems to add up.
That is probably more gold/hr than most people would see from WoD raids, and unlike raids it can be done endlessly.
However, people running raids to get 10K or 20K are often also running them for other things like transmog or mounts, so there’s that. Running dungeons endlessly is an even more dreary grind.
