Reworked Wailing Arrow

It should really be instant, and while you’re at it make Black Arrow proc Lock and Load.

MM hunter casts more aimed shots than spellcasters have to cast spells…

Definitely a practical idea, instant cast will at least allow us to better react at interrupting something with it.

And I think there are more problems with the reworked wailing arrow:

  1. The current nature of wailing arrow implies that we use it almost on cooldown. If we start hoarding Wailing Arrow to use to interrupt something, we will start losing significant amount of dps. Thus the silence’s utility becomes very limited.
  2. It appears that on single target Wailing Arrow will does less damage than Normal Aimed shot. Imagine using your talent points to do LESS damage.

However the idea of converting aimed shot into something dark and powerful greatly appeals to me (as opposed to giving us another talent that will give us another charge of aimed shot - boooring and not fun at all) I think is excellent.

What if the Dark Ranger talents convert aimed shot into a black arrow (a more powerful shadow damage oriented version of aimed shot that applies a debuff on 1 or more targets and if they die under that debuff, their spirit / corpse will rise as our minion for a short period)., while wailing arrow becomes an instant utility spell, that will silence or maybe even stun the targets it hits?

I don’t know why people are hyped too much but current Legacy of the Windrunners and Windrunner’s Guidance way better. It has Rapid Fire cd reduction, Trueshot duration increase, Aimed Shot charge granting and focus regen.

For example new Readiness talent grants Wailing Arrow when you use Trueshot. What is the point? Trueshot already greatly lowers cooldown of Aimed Shot and Rapid Fire. Also we should not miss that number of Wind Arrows are nerfed.

The thing is they will balance the abilities to be competitive so I would not worry about the amount of Wind Arrows that are flying out.

In my opinion Wailing Arrow should just be instant and should need like 10 arrows instead of 20. And finally give Wailing Arrow AFTER Trueshot, when we’ve used all our Aimed Shot charges.

Yeah in terms of dps balancing you are probably right, but what about that random silencing effect? Don’t you think that it will either interfere with our rotation (we either will have to stop using our Aimed Shot / Wailing Arrow button and wait few secs to use it to interrupt something thus wasting our DPS potential ) or we will be doing our normal rotation and thus not benefitting from silence / interrupt effect most of the time)?

For PvP maybe too OP to be instant.

Say that again when you’re trained by 2 melee.
