Wowhead posted an article saying the ‘Riding Turtle’ mount was datamined to come to the Trading Post in the future. This mount was a TCG mount at some point but was later re-released through garrison fishing and is still available to get.
Is this a new stance on the trading post that it may contain mounts that are already available through gameplay? Or was this just an oversight.
Technically they’ve added store mounts as well which are obtained though gameplay by farming gold and buying tokens converting those to bnet balance. So it’s not a new concept.
Those don’t count. It’s literally just playing the game to get the mount. No other steps required.
As for the mount, it is a weird situation. Why have the turtle there when there are so many other TCG items that can be thrown on the TP? Or hell, why not add more TCG items into the game that we can obtain through whatever means? Not sure if they’d want to keep them as (extremely?) rare drops so they retain some ‘value’, but if not, then add something like an expansion meta for TBC and that can give the Dark Portal toy. Wooly rhino for WotLK meta. Amani dragonhawk rare drop from Zul’aman. The possibilities are endless.
As someone, who already spend dozens of hours to fish it (212 kills of Frostdeep Cavedweller so far with no drop), I support the turtle in Trading Post with both of my hands.
Nice to see the turtle wil lbe available eventually
It is a headache to fish it up…
Speaking of datamined things, whats happened with the demonic looking bikes? Any news regarding those?
Isn’t it nice? Eventually everyone will own every item in the game, regardless of rarity! No need for value, excitement or anticipation - all we’ll have to do is just log in, rush to the trading post like happy little sheep and just spend our hard-earned tendies to add even more to our bloated collection! Happy days
Yes
Nobody, abosultely nobody cares about - or knows- how you got your mount or mog except maybe YOU
If it bothers you you not worked “hard enough” then don’t buy it
Rarity should come out of skill and effort in the game, not from having money to waste or being there at particular time.
Good example: Mage-Bound Spelltome from Mage Tower achievement. Requires effort for level up characters and build skill to beat the challenge. No FOMO, available at any time now, could not be bought (at least officially).
Bad example: TCG mounts. Required money to buy a card when it was a thing, 0 effort in the game involved.
Eh yes, they very much do. Especially when it comes to mounts/gear that really stand out or are a reward of some unique challenge. You’re delusional if you think otherwise.
I tink you are delusional if you belive anyone cares how and when you got your mount aside you
If you would see me on my N’Zoth dragon would you care if I killed it or bought a boost?
I hardly think so
You wouldn’t be able to tell or know when and how I got it
