Rogue already has more buttons than most other classes. Most of them hit like a wet noddle and only come together with all the procs and understanding the rotation perfectly. Why do stealth/vanish need to be a part of this and add to the button bloat?
Additionally it doesnt really fit with Outlaw (the pirate/bandit/swashbuckler). Its questionable with Assa (the poison/bleed master). Just add some fitting stuff like bombs or “take” ideas from other games/rpgs.
Rogue needs some QoL and larger changes because he is the most unpopular class on almost every major server.
I actually like the “theme” around rogue assa/sub stealth that you get really powerful once you come out of it. But in practice trying to get stealth after every pack when tank is chain pulling is zzz. Using vanish on the pack before the boss because you didn’t get stealth in really sucks, because your dps will get way worse on the boss
Yeah I looked at it too, and for me it’s a bit too much to get into for a side-character, especially if I don’t know yet, whether I would even enjoy it, after I put all this time into learning it. It seems to me like rogue is a class, where you either only play rogue, or you probably don’t play rogue.
Yea, macros are a lifesaver. You can combine a lot or all of your abilities in a few buttons. At one point I had a grand total of 8 buttons on my action bars, because they were all macros with modifiers (Alt, Shift, Control) and conditions (like combat/stealth, etc), basically squishing 20+ abilities in those 8 buttons.
That idea to combine Stealth and Garrote is a good one. I have a similar macro on my Warrior combining Charge and Victory Rush, because the two are incompatible (when you press the button to execute both, only one is a valid request) if you are standing right next to a mob/boss - Charge has a minimum range, if you are too close you can’t Charge, so the macro executes Victory Rush, which is a melee ability. If you far off the target, obviously Victory Rush cannot be executed but you can Charge. A stroke of genius I stole from some forum
I have a global macro for all my characters that combines 3 mounts into 1 button - 1 when flight is possible, another when no flying is allowed (ground mount) and a third when you are in water.
I have also combined 2 damage CDs (Dragon Roar and Odyn’s Fury) with the same cooldown (30 seconds) into 1 macro with “castsequence” - basically when you press the button, it executes one of those and switches to the second, when you press the button again, it executes the second ability and switches to the first. Brilliant. You can use both one after the other or you can use only 1 of them and have the second ready to fire.
Etc, etc, the possibilities are endless. Just giving you some ideas, I am sure a lot of rogue abilities can be combined like that or in other ways.
from time to time i force myself to play one of my rogue’s but always get disappointed not by the class (love the rogue) but the amount of skill’s couldowns you need to manage you end up spending more time looking at your interface then the game itself.
