Hello all, I just wanted to put my thoughts out there as I don’t really have a guild or friends to discuss this with but rogue really is something special.
What do I mean by that? Well for me and like most of the wow community we suffer from something we call “altoholics” where we have to keep trying out and leveling new classes as we see something another class can do and then we want to do the same thing.
For me I’ve leveled every class now with rogue being the last which I find the funniest as it’s the one that clicks with me the most. I will get into that a bit later on, but as someone who has been a tank one week, a healer the next and finally a dps main the day after it finally feels nice to have found “the one” or “it finally clicks” aka lightbulb moment. And with my luck it’s the last thing I try haha.
For me I have been playing mostly tank and healer specs for the longest time as faster queues, in and out of groups faster who would say no to that? But for me I found it just stressed me out having to worry about leading groups or keeping healthbars up like a game of whack a mole.
And from that I deviated to doing DPS and trying the quote on quote “easy” specs such as ret paladin, bm hunter, frost dk, destro lock etc… And for me I found that whilst they was fun I just felt myself not vibing with them really at all and that sucked, as it felt like I’d never find a class that fits with me personally.
And then over the last few days I chose a drachtyr rogue, my other choice would of been a undead as they just visually are super cool, but something about a massive dragon sneaking is too funny to me visually lol.
And I’ve been leveling on sub spec, going through outland zone to zone currently in the Blade Edge Mountains going for loremaster. Is it efficient or optimal? NO, but do I care? NO.
For me just going in and out of stealth getting items whilst avoiding majority of enemies in a set area and the way you’re very swift and nimble and just in/out is very nice, plus it has instant aoe attacks, a movement ability, a heal ability and a cheat death it all kind of fits in nicely in a good class package.
I see myself really pushing myself to improve on my rogue, as yes I am only now getting the hang of what rogues can do the future of what I will be able to do if I put in the effort scares and excites me, especially from a PVP perspective, when I think of PVP the one class that comes to the forefront of my mind is rogue and how I pray I don’t match a good one. I dread it, becoming good enough to be like that will bring me alot of joy.
Also I’m curious if any other of my fellow rogues have any cool stories they have on their rogues from back in the day and why you enjoy playing the class!
But yea TLDR: Rogue is last class I tried, cinderella moment it just fits, I love the vibe/playstyle and is now my only main no longer an altoholic! Don’t have anyone else to tell so wanted to share here!
