Hello, I’m currently leveling a Rogue and a Mage both have Loom gear and are at the same level 42 ish. The Rogue seems to be about 20% less on DPS, 12500 damage over 1 min (Mage) and 10500 over 1 min Rogue. I usually wouldn’t mind so much but I’m bottoming out on damage meters in groups and occasionally having the healer on my tail. I’m pretty confident it’s not my rotation, especially at such low level but does this sound normal for Rogues?
When I last leveled a Rouge I had permanent Blade Flurry which definitely helped.
Try going assassination and opening with garrote with subterfuge (talent) on three targets, then put up rupture on one target with the combo points you got.
Then you can Marked for Death (talent) one target and put up a rupture too, then you gotta Fan of Knives the targets to spread out your deadly poison on the targets so you get more energy back because of venomous wounds (and damage from the poison too). That makes your rotation smoother and faster.
Then you go from there. It worked fine for me in dungeons while leveling ^^
Low levels (i.e. everything below max level) aren’t balanced. All balancing is done with max level in mind, especially due to the acquisition of essences and such at that point. DPS differences between classes can fluctuate greatly while levelling up. I wouldn’t worry too much about it really; everyone should do enough damage to clear dungeons with relative ease, so it doesn’t matter much.
I found assasination to do the best dps on low levels also sub is decent but hard to re stealth with tanks pulling before mob packs are death. Not a fan of outlaw so have not really tried.
I’m leveling this rogue atm and it has brutal DPS, i’m mostly topping meters in dungeons + yesterday i went from level 60 to 98, i feel like hurricane while playing assassination. Outlaw feels nice when you have pistol shot proc, but is energy starving.
