Rogue leveling sucks

So ive been leveling a Rogue through Draenor with a friend who played Warrior and as I increased in levels my char got weaker and weaker, to a point where I could barely kill a single enemy. This has been the worst experience I had in WoW and honestly question Blizzards intention with making rogue so frustatingly weak in the leveling process. If it wasnt for my friend helping me I would have deleted that char. What are your thought, maybe I also missed something about the class

While some Classes do have a much easier time Leveling, the other part of the equation is the Player. Are you using your full Toolkit? Are you trying to get past obstacles on a Rogue the same way you would with a Warrior? More than likely, it’s a matter of not playing to the Class’s strengths, overpulling.

Stealth is your friend. A lot of Quests are objective based. Instead of fighting your way through everything, you can bypass that, Stealth past the Enemies. If you are caught, you get to choose between Fighting, or Vanishing and Sprinting away. CC is also very useful, so Blinding, Gouging, Stunning, use all of these. A very common situation is facing 3 strong Foes. You can make things easier by Sapping and Blinding 2 of them even before you engage in the fight. As a Rogue, you choose how and when combat starts, or if it even does.

Rogues have great survivability, which isn’t just about the typical Survival CDs. It’s about utilizing CC, and good movement. A very likely source of frustration could be in just using the wrong Tools at the wrong time.

So, don’t rush into things, but take your time to plan your approach. You’ve got the benefit of Stealth, you have more than enough time, and don’t need to try to punch your way through a door, that could be easily opened or completely bypassed.

It could be scaling. When I hit 40 on this rogue I noticed suddenly things were hitting much harder. Some magic dots and bleeds where eating my hp it super speed, some mobs just chunk through your hp in seconds. Some groups of normal mobs turned into a no no dead in seconds. Constantly having to sit to eat. I had some random food I got from some quest which had some dmg proc, this went on to almost one shot everything for the 60 minutes I had it. Scaling is mess and it hurts rogues most.

Yeah Rogue leveling isnt the best, especially if you are leveling as combat, designed to toe to toe with the foe, but as said above rogues have alot of cut-the-corner kit. Usually having to face way less pressure then rest of the classes. Also on downside we have very talent based rotation which comes togather at higher levels and with gear.

But if you enjoy the class its worth going through the pain. Id suggest to level as Assa if you know how to play Outlaw later on.

I leveled my rogue from 60 to 70 recently. I honestly don’t know what you mean. You can finish quests much faster then other classes skipping entire mob groups, gathering quest items without even having to kill a single mob just by stealth and CC. While others have to clear an entire cave with mobs I stealth trough it, kill the mob/mobs I need or gather what I need and finish the quest faster then anyone else.
