Rogue nerf justifications

The latest class tuning seems to slam down hard on rogues. For someone that doesn´t play the beta it looks very grim.

Could Blizzard atleast justify why a 34% (assa), 14.5% (outlaw), 17% (sub) damage reduction is necessary?

According to the post Blizzard write:
“In addition to new and returning abilities, the new talent trees allow players to choose abilities that were previously exclusive to one another in the talent row system. In many cases, we need to adjust the impact of these abilities to hit our throughput targets for Dragonflight.”

This is understandable… but when sub rogue nerfs simply say:
“All ability damage reduced by 17%.”
And nothing else it is is quite hard to comprehend why. Especially, since it is not the new abilities that are being nerfed, it is our old trusted damaging abilities.

Some justifications for these nerfs would seem appropriate.

Rogue class dev said these were mostly aura changes. And that they are going to buff key spells to compensate.

Sounds great BUT
I play a bit Beta on Assa and it rly feel like your basic Energie regeneration is too low

If you choose every Talent wich modify Energie reg and improves it or lower the cost of spell Assa plays fine

The point is if u dont choose all the Talents the rotation becomes painfull slow, so at the end you are forced too take all Energie talents and this end up in less decisions on Talents too pic

Its just tuning from beta numbers.

Everytime a new expansion is being cooked up the numbers go all over the place as far as which ability does what damage, and how often et cetera.

When you keep changing what a class can do for the sake of class design (ie how it feels to play), you can’t worry too much about the number side of things. These changes are just to bring everything back in line into something that looks a bit more sensible.

I agree though that without this knowledge it looks very bad.
But trust me in that it really isn’t what it looks like.

This is also why there isn’t much feedback about how much damage a class or spec can do on the beta. Those statistics and opinions are just not useful in early development outside of ridiculous outliers akin to something like blade flurry oneshotting max level mobs in green gear or something along those lines. We are only just now entering the phase of beta where it makes sense to see how specs compare to the world and each other.
