Started playing a rogue again, an old lvl 90 that I haven’t played since mop and never pvp’d on .But I was testing the poisons on a training dummy and noticed that deadly poison does alot of damage and was almost 3rd of all my damage everytime. Whereas wound poison does very little damage but has the reduce enemy healing by 25%.
Which on is better for pvp? I thought maybe the reduced 25% healing but then again I’m losing out on a ton of damage from deadly poison.
Wound poison 100% of the time unless your playing with a DPS who applies the mortal wounds effect, then I’d consider deadly. but Wound poison is good since it applies with autos, the downside means that your mortal wounds effect is one which can be cleansed.
unless v x2 dps teams in 2v2 with low healing (so DH and Rpala i’d still treat as high healing targets) use wounding, it is in essence 30% bonus damage as they are not healing effectively, also as a side bonus, wounding don’t do damage when your not hitting it, so it won’t break CC that deadly will.
what Vulrin said about your wounding being cleansable is true, however, due to application on auto attacks if you glued to the target cleaning wounding won’t last longer than a GCD anyway
also of note, most pvp you will be running poison master so its 30% not 25% and your snare is 60% off crippling, Elaborate planning can be used if you NEED the extra damage to finish a target with envenom within the buff time
Hello. I also started playing a rogue and I watched a video about this subject that helped me. Everything people above me said is true. But if you need a longer answer, there you go.
Thanks Haiz that video covers the point perfectly.
as a side note to OP, their ARE situations where deadly is more helpful, but its up to situational 1v1 generally, if I was dualing another stealth class, assuming mirror so a rogue here, deadly is harder to get a re stealth from than wounding due to the tick damage
so 1v1 base it on class , v a team generally use wounding
