The upcoming PvP changes in 10.1, including the accross-the-board changes to cc durations, have caused a wave of concerns, particularly among rogue players.
Regarding this, pick the option you think is the most concerning for rogues (multiple choices are allowed):
a. 5-point kidney shot duration will be reduced to 5 sec, down from 5.1 sec.
b. I will no longer be able to mantain my target in cc for 18.7 sec through blind+sap combo.
c. My interrupt duration will be on par with other melee interrupts.
d. There might be specs other than assa+disc viable in 2v2.
e. Rogue might no longer be a mandatory class pick for AWC.
Finally they addressed issue with mage and rogue ccs…Over the years both classes got so broken and meanwhile they got one of the biggest burst potential in the game.
Guys… its blizzard. Do you really expect them to make rogues balanced after 19 years? Mark my words. Whatever goes live turns out to be the same rmp and rogue/mage. In worst case it gonna take like 2 weeks before both classes overbuffed back to their current state.
well to be fair (don’t get me wrong, rogue is a god class that absolutely needs nerfing)
blind sap has been in the game since rogues exist so I understand the uproar, kind of. the problem might be kidney shot and it’s 20s CD, anyway.
Blind sap is counterable, ofc if you tunnel vision and play with team mate that don’t stop anything it seems impossible.
À lot of player (not only r1) are able to deal with it and even sit the entire combo sometimes, I guess it’s too hard to ask for to pay attention to other mechanics.
Can we also have 2-shoting rogues with overpower when they pop evasion like it used to be or only rogues have privilege to keep broken outdated mechanics?
Eh, as with most Rogue plays, Blind > Sap was iconic in years past because access to Stealth abilities was extremely limited and Energy was a resource that you had to be conscious of. Oftentimes even timing your Vanish was an art in and of itself, before they were given the training wheels version that we have today.
Combine infinite Energy, all specialisations having access to Dance (Sub having it rotationally fundamentally breaks balance to begin with), and even the rampant Sap bugging that has plagued the game on and off for over a decade all lead to it being pretty contemptuous.
Also Kidney Shot has needed a nerf for multiple expansions in a row now, kek.
I really wish a new class would come out and it would’ve been Rogue
the absolute tears of the community if that class had Smokebomb, Blind + Sap, Shadowy Duel, Disarm, the best defensives of any melee versus BOTH melee and casters ONTOP OF FEINT, ONTOP of already crazy damage and the best mortal strike effect in the game
boy i am so excited to see these rogue nerfs. this class has been the bane of my wow experience since vanilla. finally they are brought down to the rest of us pleb classes.
they still have the best cc in the game, but blind into sap and 5 sec interrupt was just not reasonable. now they need to put the gcd of rogues also at the same speed as the rest of us, they still have 1 sec gcd. and for the love of god why is rogue able to skill into 8 yard melee range while fury the spec that uses 2 long twohanded weapons has a miserable melee range of 5 yards?
As a guy with 2 fully geared pvp rogues (assa + outlaw), I am more concerned with the change in pvp meta from burst to sustain combined with reduced CC, without addressing rogue survivability. We are not top dmg and we are squishy as hell. The only thing we have is control and burst windows. Remove that and the class is not going to do that well. Arms warrior will be a better rogue in 10.1 than rogues are.
