So Rogue tanks have really drawn the short end of the stick in SoD, probably being the least played spec in SoD overall. I think there are many good things about it, but the tuning is definitely way off.

The increased threat generation from [ Just a Flesh Wound ] is too low. Several times I have been almost even with a dps in damage, but they still pull ahead of me in threat. Dunno if this is intended, but the rune does say “threat is massively increased.”

The only AoE skill available at lvl 40 is Shuriken toss, which is actually really cool, and I love the way it bounces. It’s just not strong enough, the dmg is simply too low to ever keep threat on AoE. I dunno if they’re just not supposed to be able to AoE tank, but alas.

The combo point system in general is just very unsuited for tanking. There is some fun skill to using combo points and only swapping targets when you don’t have combo points, but because of the weak AoE it just makes it a nightmare to tank more than 2 mobs.

Mitigation wise it’s honestly great. The greatest defensive weakness is magic dmg, which can be somewhat helped by the 30% increased max hp from [ Rolling with the Punches ]. Overall tankiness is extremely strong.

I am not sure how strict Warlock and Shaman tanks are with their runes, but on rogue tank you are pretty much forced into using 5 specific runes. I wish there would somehow be a bit more leeway in terms of a rune setup.
Overall I’m having a lot of fun with it, but also feeling pretty despairge – Because why would you bring a rogue tank over anything else? Dunno why yet.
Those are my 2 cents. Ty.
