I guess this is a case of be careful what I wish for?
We’ve needed an AOE move since the start and now we get 3 at once all on the same slot. Pulled from other expansions so that we can once again have no real choices in a slot but to simply wait and see which ever one sims best for each spec.
To me this screams that the SOD devs really have no idea what to do with rogues, especially tanks. We still have to spend a rune slot on blade dance, which if the set data mining is true will be mandatory if you want to use the tanking set.
Rolling with the punches is still this annoying stacking thing rather than a passive bonus which means it can fall off against slow attacking or casting heavy bosses.
Saber Slash is getting nerfed, why?! Rogues are so fed of Mutilate but we’re being forced into it every time.
The new poisons are basically DOA because we can’t afford to lose our OH poison or WF.
As for the new runes, FOK hits like a wet sponge and doesn’t even generate CP. Nice that shuriken toss generates CP now but why not just make that our AOE move and give us interesting cloak runes. No one’s taking shurikens over Shadowstep now that it’s OGCD. This would’ve been perfect to give us a decent defensive like COS!
Main Gauche and Shiv may as well not exist.
If we’re lucky, we’ll be able to tank dungeons and maybe some raid trash. But without some serious rethinking Rogue Tank will continue to be the biggest failure of SOD. All the other tanks have more options, defensives and utility.
I guess we can kinda do lots of damage sometimes? But If I wanted that then I’d be playing a DPS and not a tank.
P.S. Shadowstep being OGCD is amazing and it should always have been this way.
