And also people have to learn that building threat takes few seconds.
I encounter many impatient people who make the pulling instead of me when i am tanking.
If waiting 3-4s before starting dps is asked too much then pls go back to retail!

just had to warries yesterday in ubrs. each charging another group while i am still typing a message to the group “let me please pull”.
lucky they did not do much damage.
may fav. reaction is, if they die → !1! Agro??! Tank!!!
agree, but when blizzard buff all tank with better threat generetaion, and “forget” rogues?
4-5s is not enough for a rogue tank (probs not even for warrior). Shuriken toss → Blade dance → main gauche → sinister → crimson (wait for DoT) → wait for energy → tab sinister wait and repeat. thats like 10 seconds to get some proper AoE threat.
Fan of knives has so much energy cost for so low dmg (threat) thats it’s not really viable option. Blunderbuss hits only 4 targets so its also not very viable option when pulling 10 mobs.
Altho the tanking set that comes later in game reduces energy cost for fan of knives which might improve it a lot, making aoe tanking easier, but when it comes to that, people wont really run normal dungs where this becomes useful.
i hope blizzard have the decency, to incresse Rogue threat regen,in a common and fun way. Pls blizz, just make it a little better for us to tanking for our friends.
Well as a shaman tank i don’t need anyone to wait. 1-2k aoe dps and self cast alpha… good luck beating that threat
Rogue aoe threat is a joke compared to other tanks, even the healers take aggro in dungeons if there’s more than 2 mobs to tank. Shuriken toss was a decent ability p2, only issue was its joke of damage. Now you made the damage decent but added 20seconds cooldown… Cmon… Like even if a rogue tank only spammed shuriken toss hitting for 1k dmg total, he wouldnt still beat any class in dps. Just remove CD from Shuriken toss or make all aoe runes cost 25energy max, so we can cast 4 at a time before waiting energy ticks. With shuriken toss on a pull i can keep threat from 4 mobs, for 3seconds until the warlocks, hunters or spriest start blast it.
Waiting to get that 2 set from MC so finally can cast 3x Fan of knives for a total of 50-100dmg on each target with another 100% increased threat, so i do 300threat on each target instead of 150 then? haha “woho its gonna help”… Not really…
At lvl 60, I was so happy when I tanked BRD till emperor and was able to even pull two groups at once and hold moderate aggro. Here and there, I lost aggro on a mob but the other players kited them well. It was quite nerve wrecking I had to switch mobs a lot, run around here, catch a mob there… I found the experience quite stressful.
Not to mention the low hp mobs in the big room before the emperor. It is literally impossible to tank them as a rogue. You hit a mob, get two combo points, mob dies before you can do anything. So you just wait for your energy to do one mutilate on a mob, then wait 4 seconds for the next mutilate. So you just watch your group mates face tank all of them.
Then, I went into BRD with a pally as tank. He casually pulled 4 groups at once, did his consecration and hardly ever lost aggro. He was lvl 52.
For me, it is not about dps, but about aggro. Just give us an ability that is aoe, does no damage, but creates a huge amount of threat. How about modifying “just a flesh wound”: “The damage you deal also generates threat to mobs in your proximity”. End of story. I can play the class as I like it and don´t have to spam some strange ability, hoping it generates some threat.
Tanking is irrelevant in pvp. I am absolutely sure that no players will complain that a rogue is tanking too well. I hardly find groups as DPS. It seems like all the groups are waiting for healers or tanks. So enabling more players to fulfill the role of tank would improve the gaming experience for everyone. If other tank classes do complain, give them a rune with the same ability.
I cannot stress that enough: If Blizzard buffed rogues dps for 100 %, everyone would complain. But there is no such rivalry in tanking as it is in pvp. Most people just want to be dps and play their class as they like. They want a tank that holds aggro. The limiting factor is still the survivability and damage mitigation that a class has. Oh, btw. rogues are also worse in dmg mitigation. If we get stunned, we die. If we fight magic, we die. So please just buff aoe tanking, the game will be nicer for everyone.
The real classic solution here would be not to buff rogue tank threat generation by +20%…
It would be reduce threat generation of all other tanks by -20%. This way threat management would matter again. I personally think that watching threat is a struggle, but many things in the game are a struggle just because many people love the way it used to be 19 years ago.
At the moment it seems rogue tank is the only tank that has the same threat struggle like tanks had back then
exactly. feels almost like cheating. but… it basically is what is needed atm. ppl have 0 time to waste and always charge in with or sometimes in front of the tank.
if rouges does not have aoe agro that can work, they urgently need a fix for that.
hot damn i was ubrs once and there were these 2 warriors. they always charged first (cause rage you noob) and sometimes in different groups. oh lol… lucky i had lots of strong aoe. ppl just dont have patience anymore.
Rogues T1 2set Bonus changes all of that. Had one guy tank UBRS with FoS. there was no issue.
I personally would prefer that Rogues doesnt have to be dependant a set item to properly tank big groups of mobs and that the set bonus just adds more value to the tanking.
Right now Rogues are dependant on the 2set bonus.
Blizzard plz give all tank rogues 2 pieces of t1
Devs on twitter said 2 set tier 1 will fix it.
Devs of twitter said to get 2 or 3 FoKs off before DPS starting to deal damage.
We got 2 set, we waiting 3 FoKs, hunter pulled aggro in under a second.
