I forgot to mention, rogues almost always got shi*ty attitudes to my experience
Eh … point prooven i suppose

And using sweeping generalizations like that just makes you a peachy person no?
Maybe everyone should put a bit more effort in seeing the people behind the characters. But what do I know, after all I main a filthy rogue.
You must be blinded to your own attitude if mine is already not a great example.
Why would anybody need a rogue when half the server is rogues?
Problem isnt the meta. I roll feral… I play with friends and guildies. Maybe u should have made some friends on your wat to 60!
I’d rather have a rogue than a mage in parties when I tank. Mages with their AoE and freezing makes my job harder, while the rogue I hardly notice apart from mobs dying faster. Mages also have more downtime and sometimes get annoyed when I pull while they’re drinking. When the healer is on full mana we’re good to go, and any time I have to round up mobs before they get frozen and AoE’d is a bonus, get over it.
That’s what’s “fun” about modern gaming. Some people just must optimize everything, they seem to treat WoW as some kind of a sheetty corporate job where every deadline is yesterday and you just have to do everything ASAP or get fired. The only thing they apparently care about is numbers. They won’t take retpaladins, feral druids and spriests because they are not optimal. Warlocks, hunters and rogues should also delete their characters since their dps is 4,6298539% weaker than super turbocleave mlg 420 mage. Hell, even mages without the imp blizzard specialization aren’t worth grouping with cuz it’s still damn not optimal. Are they even having any fun at this point anymore? How ridiculous it’s gonna be at 60 if they only accept spellcleaving even through Deadmines? They gonna be inspecting your butthole to check if everything is optimal there and if you are able to fartcleave?
I guess that guys like that just watched too much cancerous streamers who got used to being insta gratified by mashing just one button and who demand that everything is done quickly and without effort (also inventing a super fancy pro gaming word for their laziness to be even more c00l). So their sheepies try to surround themselves with aoeing mages so they are also able to finish the dungeon just by pressing that one button. How fun.
Ok, play the game the way u want. But please, just mention it in your LFM announcement so I don’t have to waste my life reading your “sorry dude you a rogue, we are looking only for mages cuz it’s SPELLCLEAVE™® PRO Twitch™ team©”
Your realm must be awful. I have the opposite experience.
Find a nicer guild and/or take care of the good players you meet.
Take a read and enjoy 10 minute groups
Ignoring the AoE farm groups, any group searching for a DPS in my level range and I asked, there was no problem at all and got in.
If your realm only has AoE groups, that might be a problem, but outside those groups, rogue is still great DPS and also brings a lot of utility/cc in trash mob groups. Sapping, or cc/evasion tank a mob that breaks free from tank and goes after the healer. And as a little bonus, you can open those locked boxes for the group.
Outside of guild dungeons, it can be tricky as a rogue (mainly BRD, hoJ is SO contested). Bar that the longer we’ve been into phase 1 the easier I’ve found it (more people obtaining those pre-bis items).
It’s to a point now where I find it very easy to find a group to any of the end game dungeons.
Funny how the “LOOOOOL just make your own group 4HEad” crowd didnt even read your OP where you clearly explained how even making your own groups doesnt always work.
Face it, if you are on a PVP server, you will have to have massive patience with finding dungeon groups because you might not find one for 1-2 hours that will suit you.
Usually the case, takes time you will have to wait sadly.
When i make groups i just take any class who pms me and is in the dungeon level. Sometimes formation was quick and sometimes slow as i try not to stack classes.
Yea why not? Just add to the problem!
For that one can find some rogues and druids and farm it. If someone doesn’t honor the pact after getting it (not necessarily farming it forever for everyone, but simply “I’ll stay for N runs regardless”), you just add them to your ignore list and find another. It also drops pants, so there’s some extra incentive.
Except for the healer that may or may not be interested (if you can’t find a feral druid willing to heal) it’s a dream scenario for any leather user gearing up.
You can also use the reset to kill the barman for the chest piece and shanker for rogues. Quick and painless.
I do wonder if you say these things just to bait people into replying. If anybody has taken 2 hours to find a level 50 dungeon using who in the last week, I would be utterly astonished It’s likely not happened because it’s just so freaking easy to find a group via who on a med pop server.
I highly dispute the “they left because we cant finish brd this way” comments too. Maybe, maybe it happened once? But was far more likely in regards to the players level than the class.
Also from a level 12 mage with 0 posts, it’s perhaps a troll post anyway
This meta is really a cancer … It has grown across through all the servers, factions and levels, people are obsessed about “efficiency”.
As a shaman, I got kicked out of a group because I did not have improved WF. A 30% increase of a base 122 AP. And I was supposed to be the healer.
I left Retail in WotLK not only because of additions to the game I did not support but also because this mentality of “speed/efficiency” started back then.
I have played quite a few private servers, and although most people playing on them were semi-hardcore, it was not reaching at all this level we have right now.
So I will sit Classic down for a little while and come back in a few months. Let’s see if the tourists wannabe elitist will get tired of it. Otherwise, well, there are many other games out there worth it. It was still fun to quest again in old Azeroth
I think it’s worse the higher the level because you’re more likely to find players of the competitive type, especially at 60 as a lot of people aren’t there yet.
I am sure it is. It is what it is, there is no way to really escape it. I’ve been advocating for Vanilla servers for a long long time (especially in the hope of getting TBC) but I can’t deny that I am a bit disappointed.
By Blizzard for giving us a 1.12 version that is really too easy although I can live with it. But by the community that is constantly looking for a perfect meta in a game that can be played by a 5 year old.
I do think that if Blizzard would have gone for a harder version, may be, may be the AOE / Cleave meta would not have stuck because you would have needed to do some crowd control. Right now, the mages barely knows that this spell is.
I know this pain. I didn’t really care while leveling (I never joined dungeon aoe farms), but at 60 it’s quite challenging to find pug groups. I don’t know what the census is, but maybe there is an overpopulation of rogues. Either way, things got better for me now that I’m in a guild with enough 60’s that want to run dungeons, but LFG is a pretty lost cause still. I hope it evens out over time. Or maybe I should just roll a druid, there seems to be a shortage of those (just like in vanilla).
