Rogues defending Cloaked in Shadow

How can someone defend this design. The only counterplay to Rogue is gone thanks to it. After different runes, enhancements, seals, presences, stances, chakras removal this is another step to make the game more trivial. For years Rogues didn’t need that and I’m 100% that good Rogues don’t need it now either. Because of that stupid crit legendary synergizing with this crap Blizzard nerfed your damage so you literally do nothing outside of leaving stealth for 4 sec. Is it really what you Rogues want or would you prefer good old Sub with Shadow Dance being good without restealthing. This literally made you gimmick.

On the other hand terrible Rogue players playing gimmick one shot builds with Dagger in the Dark open on random people in the open world knowing they do it with no risk because if someone is better and would turn the fight they can always Soulshape and go into stealth with dots.

What is the counter play to dots that last over 24 seconds ?

In past expansions Dots didnt last that long, most of the time only 12 seconds.

Now they last the double duration while also many calsses now have 2 instead of 1. Healer got a CD on dispel, so that this help also got removed. Then there is also the problem with dots and and haste scaling with ticking now each 0,8 seconds instead of once every 3 seconds.

Im not against removing legendary, Subterfuge and the conduit, but for the later one you need to compensate, or better the duration of fire and forgot dots needs to be adjusted.

Also for the legendary Damage would need to be buffed again. The damage for Sub only comes from the Legendary and a restealth currently.

Dispels. Dispels are the counterplay to long duration DoTs.

Theres not supose to be counterplay the dots are the counterplay for stealth, welcome to logic

The best part was that it took 48% of HP and people wanted it to get nerfed. Now on CDs it may deal even more xD

You didnt read further.

I did, I’m pointing out you mentioned it yourself and didn’t have to go further.
DoTs are supposed to counter restealths, not the other way around. That’s where dispels can help you.

How are people crying about rogues. I actually feel rogues kinda suck right now and I main a DK which is saying something calling another class bad…

and shields in general too. in BFA, i would ask my priest all the time to shield me before restealthing, it just became common practice eventually to track weakened soul to know if i can go and get a stealth. sure, it’s a priest rogue mostly thing, but at least it’s not just guaranteed free escapes and restealth (even melding stealthing in mid fight and just walking away) which is really strange. even when fighting other rogues where you’d bleed them to make sure they can’t sit in stealth when running away, this just doesn’t work anymore.

I think it’s not specifically about them being broken op but about them and their playstyle being annoying af.

OP is right imo. rogues don’t really need that. facing a rogue mage in 2v2 right now is pure torture for your brain cells. 3v3 not much better but more bearable

But it’s the mage that’s carrying the rogue. Go and 1v1 a rogue, they are pathetic weak. Without the mage damage and control the rogue would not do much. The rogue is there basically to set up the mage, it’s kinda like what frost dk does for war/WW.

If rogue is so strong why isn’t rogue/healer more played?

This is not what we want but with the current situation and how the game is… We have no other choice… And if this conduit gets nerfed or removed with the current state of the game… I would say then rogues go straight to garbage… Blizz has made it this way and this is what it is as we neeed the restealth since we nowhere near can compete in a dps vs dps face to face battle… Out dmg without the crit boost is garbage… And if a single dot does not let us to restealth… Well guess what is going to happen… As we cannot survive otherwise… Deffensives do not exist on rogues… and all classes have dots/bleeds which we cannot remove and they last forever and how simple it is to apply a bleed/dot is just hilarious… In most encounters there are 3+ dots…

Because Arms/Hpally is everywhere and the epitome of the phrase “hard counter”.

Im certainly not against buffing our damage in general and nerfing/removing cloaked in shadows and MA. I dont like being so dependant on mages and restealths.
The compensation is going to have to be big though. We already have below average represantation on the ladder and a no show on the tournement. Now that our most viable partner is getting nerfed we are going to be in a even worse position.

Sure, a random 20 sec of dots annoys rogue too. Why ur annoyance comes first and has to nerf something that’s not op when igrnoing other’s annoyance?

erm maybe because it further removes a skill to differentiate good from bad rogues by allowing every Johnny to restealth with 0 effort?
